Since its launch in 1997, FTV News has been a leading source for news affecting Taiwan. One of its primary objectives is to reach a broader audience by broadcasting in multiple languages, including Mandarin and Taiwanese. It is also one of the few stations to offer a local news program in English. Formosa News, FTV's English news show, is the longest running televised English news program in Taiwa

n and has been honored on multiple occasions, including winning the 2009 Foundation of Excellent Journalism Award for Best News Program. The Foundation also nominated anchor Jinny Chang in its Best News Presenter category in 2006, and the Ministry of the Interior chose the program as one of Taiwan's top 26 TV shows in 2006. on FTV Taiwan, channel 152.

Reckless SUV maniac turns public roads into own private drift track

A reckless driver turned the streets of Taichung into a personal stunt show early Monday morning, repeatedly drifting and doing donuts through major intersections while stunned motorists looked on. Dashcam videos show the gray SUV spinning across multiple junctions over a route of at least 10 kilometers before speeding away. Police have identified the vehicle and say the driver could face multiple traffic fines, a six-month license plate suspension, and even public endangerment charges. Thankfully no one was hurt, but many are asking how such dangerous driving went unchecked for so long.

A golden retriever named Cola who lives at a scooter repair shop in New Taipei’s Banqiao District went viral thanks to a video of him hopping onto a police scooter. The owner regularly posts videos of Cola interacting with people, building a loyal online fan base. Recently, a pair of tourists from Hong Kong came especially to see their favorite celebrity dog. They tried to give cash to the owner to buy treats, but he refused, so the couple shoved the money into his hand and bolted before he had a chance to return it.
