Combating Corruption in Africa: A Focus on Prevention and Universal Ratification
At the opening of its 52nd Ordinary Session, the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption (AUABC) established the foundation for a paradigm shift. In response to persistent resource constraints, the Board is prioritizing budget optimization and the enhancement of technical capacities. The stated objective is to deepen engagement with Member States to promote the widespread adoption of anti-corruption protocols (African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption). Transparency is a long-term endeavor—and it begins with prevention.
