🇮🇩🤝🇹🇿 Indonesia & Tanzania: Building Bridges Through Language
A new language can open new opportunities—for education, business, tourism, and cultural exchange.
On 24 July 2026, Ambassador Tri Yogo Jatmiko met with Vice Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Prof. Atip Latipulhayat and the leadership of Badan Bahasa to discuss expanding Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) in Tanzania.
A major milestone is on the horizon: Bahasa Indonesia classes will soon be launched at the Muslim University of Morogoro (MUM), with a native Indonesian teacher from Indonesia. Supported by Badan Bahasa through teacher training, curriculum development, and learning resources, this initiative marks an important step toward deeper educational cooperation between Indonesia and Tanzania.
The program will also help Tanzanians prepare for graduate studies in Indonesia through scholarship programs, equipping prospective students with the language skills and cultural understanding needed to succeed in Indonesian universities.
As more Tanzanians learn Bahasa Indonesia, new opportunities can grow in academic exchange, trade, tourism, investment, and cultural understanding.
Every new language learned is a new bridge built.
