Meet our Panelist , Arch. Sofia Salviani De Boseck

Sofía Salviani de Boseck is an architect and urban planner trained at U.B.A., Argentina, and Bauhaus University, Germany, holding a Master of Science in Urban Studies and a specialization in Neuroarchitecture (Spain, 2026). At TAWAH, we believe community work begins with listening. Our approach is rooted in continuous dialogue sharing feedback, reflecting on challenges and successes, and planning the way forward together with community leaders. This is how trust is built and impact becomes sustainable.

We recently held a meeting in Mhaga village between the TAWAH team and community leaders — a space for honest reflection on what is working, where challenges remain, and how we can move forward collectively.

We are grateful to the Mhaga leadership for their openness, shared commitment to improving livelihoods, and their warm welcome to Colman Ndetembea and Kyaro Assistive Tech.

As we continue growing our work through Tanzania Women Architects for Humanity (TAWAH), we remain committed to participatory leadership because sustainable change is built with communities, not for them.

A smile that builds confidence.Hands that will build structures.Minds that are building a new narrative.

Happy to warmly welcome Cohort 5 our incredible women builders to TAWAH VTC!

Meet these determined women who have joined TAWAH VTC to gain hands-on construction skills and shape their own paths in the building industry.

With confidence, courage, and commitment, they are proving that construction has no gender only skill, passion, and purpose.

The future of construction is inclusive, and these women are part of that transformation.

Meet fundi Chance Atanas Gunga (23) – Electrician (TAWAH Women Builders Cohort 3). From Kumsenga Village in Kibondo District, Kigoma Region, Chance is a powerful example of what opportunity and determination can unlock.

After completing our Women Builders Cohort 3, Chance recently finished her advanced electrician training at VETA - Changombe in Dar es Salaam, earning her certification. As the firstborn in a family of six, her dream is bold and clear: to become one of the leading electricians in the country and support her siblings.

Before joining TAWAH, Chance was working as a tailor in Kigoma, a skill she learned immediately after completing Form Four in 2020 to help support her family. Today, with additional skills in construction and electrical works, she is already seeing the impact of this transition: “When I was working as a tailor in Kigoma, I earned about 7,000 TZS per day. Now, as an electrician, I earn between 15,000–20,000 TZS per day. I enjoy what I’m doing, and I plan to go back to school and become a big electrician in the country.” And she will.
We are incredibly proud of Chance and inspired by her journey.
