On Monday, August 10th, the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre proudly hosted a spectacular cultural program to mark the kick-off of the Audit-Officers training program at IITM Zanzibar.

We were deeply honored to have the event graced by H.E. Bishwadip Dey, High Commissioner of India, alongside Shri B.K. Mohanty, Comptroller and Auditor General. The absolute highlight of the evening was a mesmerizing musical fusion that beautifully blended the rich traditions of Indian and Zanzibari music, celebrating the strong ties between our two nations.

On August 4th, the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre hosted an interactive musical workshop for our Tabla students!

​Led by Mr. Abhyshek Mukhopadhyay (TIC Tabla) and Dr. Shyam Sunder Sharma (TIC Vocals), the session offered students a deep dive into the essentials of Taal and Raga, strengthening their foundational knowledge of Indian Classical Music.

On 02nd August 2026, The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), under the High Commission of India, Dar es Salaam, celebrated the sacred occasion of Guru Purnima, paying heartfelt tribute to India's timeless Guru–Shishya Parampara—the eternal tradition of reverence for the Guru as the guiding light of knowledge, wisdom, and values.

The celebration reaffirmed India's rich spiritual and cultural heritage, inspiring participants to embrace the ideals of self-discipline, lifelong learning, compassion, and service to humanity. Through such cultural initiatives, SVCC continues to strengthen the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between the people of India and Tanzania.
