Better access to justice starts with people having the right tools and support. 💙

Through the EU-funded Sauti ya Mwanamke project, implemented by Enabel, the EU is supporting the Zanzibar Paralegals Network (ZAPONET) to strengthen its work empowering women and communities across Zanzibar.

On 12 August, Enabel in Tanzania, together with POCLAPSGG, handed over ICT equipment to ZAPONET members at Sheria House, strengthening their capacity to connect, support and serve the communities they work with.

This support is part of the Gender Transformative Action “Breaking the Glass Ceiling”.

Meet Maria-Micaiah, our new Trainee in the Political, Press and Information Section.

After completing her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Sociology, Maria gained experience at the Houses of the Oireachtas (Ireland’s National Parliament) and Women in Law and Development in Africa (WiLDAF) before joining us.

Beyond work, she enjoys reading, creative writing, music and film, with a particular interest in storytelling and creative expression.
