Kharkov Aviation Institute was established April 17, 1930, and August 7, 1998 the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine - transformed into the State Aerospace University. Presidential Decree № 1059/2000 of 11 September 2000 granted the status of the National HAI institution of higher education. HAI history is closely connected with the history of the formation and development of domestic aviation, aviat
ion and space industry and science. The Institute is known for creating the first European high-speed aircraft and project the country's first jet engine. Over the years the University has trained over 65,000 professionals. Among them, more than 600 associations and directors of factories, leaders of organizations, chief engineers, chief designers and engineers, about 1,800 doctors and candidates of science. Scientists and HAI, its graduates were directly involved in the design and construction of aircraft families of An, Tu, Be, and Su , Mig, Mi, Ka, and the creation of rocket and space technology. The vast majority of the engineering staff of such world famous companies, like Enterprise "Antonov" Design Office "Progress", "Aviant" KSAMC, are graduates of HAI. National Aerospace University. ME Zhukovsky "HAI" is the only in Ukraine specialized institution of higher education IV level of accreditation, which is a comprehensive training personnel for the design and manufacture all types of aircraft, aircraft and rocket engines, electrical equipment and machinery. the University in 48 specialties are trained more than 12,100 students. Training of specialists performed at 10 faculties and 44 departments. The number of full-time faculty of about 820 people, among whom 75% have academic rank of professor and associate professors, researchers and doctoral candidates of science, 16 academicians and 4 corresponding members of branch academies, 24 State Prize winner. HAI has many years of close study and scientific relations with various foreign universities (USA, Germany, France, Mexico, etc.), all aviation training institutions of the CIS countries. Since 2010 academic year is set to co-education students in the HAI and the Politecnico di Torino (Italy), specializing in "Aerospace Engineering", and then receiving two diplomas of the state sample. Departments and laboratories of the University received a grant of more than 20 European and non-governmental organizations to carry out relevant research.
