Об’єднання підприємств «Український музичний альянс» («УМА») є недержавним і неприбутковим об’єднанням суб’єктів суміжних прав. УМА було створено у вересні 2001 р. З 2003 р. УМА здійснює колективне управління майновими правами виконавців та виробників фонограм (відеограм).
Серед правовласників (суб’єктів авторського та (або) суміжних прав) ОП «Український музичний альянс» має договори з компаніями

· ОП «Український музичний альянс» має договір з представниками лейблів ECM, Enja, Challenge Records, Harmonia Mund, ACT на території України.
На сьогодні об’єктом управління ОП «УМА» є більшість зарубіжного й вітчизняного репертуару, що транслюється в ефірі радіостанцій, телеканалів, використовується з комерційною метою.
7 жовтня 2003 р. Державний департамент інтелектуальної власності Міністерства освіти і науки України надав УМА статус уповноваженої організації колективного управління щодо публічного використання опублікованих з комерційною метою фонограм (відеограм) і зафіксованих у них виконань згідно зі ст. 43 Закону України «Про авторське право і суміжні права».
20 грудня 2007 р. Державний департамент інтелектуальної власності Міністерства освіти і науки України надав УМА статус уповноваженої організації колективного управління щодо збору й розподілу винагороди «за приватну копію» згідно зі ст. 42 Закону України «Про авторське право і суміжні права».
УМА є єдиною в Україні організацією, уповноваженою IFPI присвоювати ISRC-код реєстранта на території України.
Робота нашої організації спрямована на забезпечення дотримання авторського й суміжних прав, отримання правовласниками належної їм винагороди і зрештою на розвиток потужної й цивілізованої музичної індустрії.

The Association of Enterprises «Ukrainian Music Alliance» (UMA) is a non-governmental and non-profit association of related rights subjects. Support and development of recording and show business in Ukraine was the aim of the Alliance foundation. According to the decision of Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine UMA was determined as an authorized collecting society, which collects and distributes the royalties in favor of performers and phonogram producers for the exploitation of their related rights objects (performances and phonograms). The world's most famous recording companies, such as Universal Music Group,Warner music, Sony music are the members of UMA. One of the most important Alliance's priorities is to sign as many national and international agreements with collecting societies as possible, in order to strengthen the rights of the related rights holders and efficient international administration functioning of such rights between collecting societies. We have signed agreements with national collecting societies such as:

Public Organization «Agency of Performer’s Rights Protection» (which administer rights of more than 600 Ukrainian performers)

Specialization of Alliance is collection and distribution of royalties for the use of phonogram performances by TV and radio companies, cable TV operators, and their distribution in the Internet. This specialization rides by the necessity to structure the market and partition of authority between collecting societies in Ukraine. UMA has a quite experience of functioning in the sphere of intellectual property as a whole, and related rights in particular. Alliance successfully cooperates with the State Department of Intellectual Property of Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affair’s department concerning the infringements in the sphere of intellectual property and other governmental bodies. UMA takes active part in the corrective actions of Ukrainian legislature in the sphere of intellectual property. The number of standard acts modifications was passed either on demand or with the help of UMA. UMA started it’s collaboration with IFPI since it was founded. The main result of such cooperation was the appointment of UMA as a Ukrainian National ISRC Agency. In the year 2004 Alliance was the initiator of carrying out the Ukrainian Music Awards ceremony which reflected the achievements of Ukrainian recording companies and was a remarkable event in Ukrainian show business as a whole. In 2007 UMA was appointed by State Department of Intellectual Property of Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine as collecting society authorized to collect so called levies remuneration. The Association of Enterprises «Ukrainian Music Alliance» is always open for international cooperation.
