Today, on the floor of Parliament, I called for the suspension of toll operations on the Kampala–Entebbe Expressway pending investigations into alleged financial irregularities.
I urged the relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate the matter and hold those responsible accountable. I also backed the Committee’s efforts to expose corruption and ensure transparency in the management of public resources.

This morning, I was at Butambala Chief Magistrate’s Court alongside a team led by our Acting President and Leader of the Opposition (LOP), in solidarity with Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi, who is facing charges of inciting violence and managing an unlawful society.

We strongly condemned the court’s decision to bar media coverage of the proceedings and restrict defence lawyers from publicly commenting on the case. We believe that transparency and the right to a fair hearing must be upheld throughout the judicial process.

Yesterday, I joined mourners in Mukuba, Bugiri Municipality, to pay our last respects to the late Maka Christopher, who is reported to have passed away following an accident.
I later proceeded to Wangobo, where I joined family, friends and the community in mourning the late Bageya in Intente, Wangobo-Nabukalu.
I concluded the day in Namayingo, where we joined Bukooli Isaza Football Club for their first match against Bukooli Namayingo Football Club.
It was a day of standing with our communities in times of grief and celebration. May the departed souls rest in eternal peace, and I wish our football teams success as they continue promoting unity and nurturing talent in Bukooli.

Today, I joined the people of Buwofu in Kapyang Sub-county to lay to rest the mother-in-law of former Bugiri LCV Chairman, Hajji Azalwa Malijhani. I conveyed my condolences to the bereaved family and the community for the loss of such a respected elder.
Later, I joined fellow community leaders for a dinner hosted by the Bishop of Naluwerere Cathedral, where we discussed ways of transforming our communities socially and economically through stronger leadership and collective action.

Today, I joined Members of Parliament on the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources on a visit to the 600MW Karuma Hydropower Dam to assess Uganda’s electricity situation.

I questioned the engineers on why Ugandans continue to face unreliable power and frequent outages despite having major dams like Karuma.

The explanations we received were not clear. It was especially concerning to learn that even communities surrounding the dam struggle to access reliable electricity.

Where is the power going if the people and businesses near our major power facilities cannot reliably access it?

Uganda’s businesses and economy cannot grow without stable and affordable electricity. This is an issue we must continue to demand answers on.

18/08/2026

Today on the floor of Parliament, I raised the persistent power crisis affecting the people of Bugiri District.

In some areas, electricity comes for only about 30 minutes and stays off for weeks, yet many businesses and livelihoods depend on reliable power.

I called for urgent intervention to address this challenge and ensure that the people of Bugiri have a stable and reliable electricity supply.

Bugiri deserves reliable power. Bugooli North deserves development. 🇺🇬

Today, I joined the people of Kireka Cell, Bugiri Municipality, to bid farewell to my dear friend and renowned teacher and headmaster, the late Mr. Nkaye Muhammad. He cared deeply about me and my leadership. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and comfort his family.

Later, I joined the people of Wangobo, Nabukalu, to send off one of the area’s respected elders.

I also distributed Mama Kits to expectant mothers, continuing my commitment to supporting mothers in Bukooli North.

It was a great moment connecting with and serving my people. ❤️

Today, I had the honour of joining the Kyabazinga of Busoga, His Royal Highness William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Gabula Nadiope IV, at the opening of the Busoga Masaza Cup in Namutumba District.

Together with fellow Members of Parliament and the people of Busoga, we made the occasion colourful, joyful and memorable. In the opening match, Bugweri Province defeated hosts Bukono Province 1–0.

Thank you, the people of Busoga, for the overwhelming love and respect you showed our King and all of us. Together, we continue to celebrate and strengthen the unity of Obusoga.
