The circulating video of a lady in deep emotional distress is deeply concerning. If indeed linked to recent wetland enforcement measures, it calls for reflection on how environmental protection is carried out.

Saving our wetlands is non-negotiable, but so is protecting human dignity. We must pursue conservation with compassion, fairness, and people-centered solutions.

My prayers are with her and all affected families.

I wish to sincerely thank our Party President, H.E. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine), and the entire top leadership of our great party for the trust and confidence bestowed upon me through my appointment as Shadow Minister for Water and Environment.

This responsibility is not merely a position, but a call to serve, to advocate for environmental justice, water accessibility, accountability, and people-centered governance.

I wish to express my deepest and sincere appreciation to all the religious leaders who honored my Thanksgiving Ceremony with their presence, prayers, and blessings.

Your participation was not only a great honor but also a strong demonstration of spiritual leadership, unity, and community support. Your prayers and guidance strengthened the occasion and reminded us of the importance of faith in service to humanity.

I would like to extend my most special gratitude to the Bugiri Muslim Supreme Council for your outstanding support, cooperation, and for honoring this important event. Your presence, counsel, and commitment are deeply valued and appreciated.

May Allah and the Almighty God continue to bless and strengthen all our religious leaders as you tirelessly serve our communities with wisdom, peace, and devotion.

Thank you once again for standing with us.

What a day in Bukooli North!

Yesterday, thousands of you came out for our Thanksgiving ceremony — from Bukooli North, across Busoga, and beyond. Your presence was the real statement.

I’m grateful to my brothers and sisters in Parliament, our invited guests, and the leadership of the National Unity Platform for standing with us.

A special thank you to:
• Maama H.E. Lina Zedriga Walu, NUP Vice President
• Hon. Betty Nambooze, my mentor and friend
• My Busoga MPs: Hon. Muyonjo Hussein Swengere, Hon. Andrew Kiiza Kaluya, and Hon. Amanio
• Our religious leaders, cultural leaders, local leaders, artists, and every single person who showed up

I am humbled. I am energized. Busoga spoke yesterday, and Bukooli North led the way. This is just the beginning of the journey.

Thank you, Bukooli Chiefdom. Let’s keep moving. I love you all!

Today, I had the honour of joining religious leaders, local leaders, and well-wishers of Bukooli North Constituency in the commissioning of a Seed Secondary School in Buluguyi Sub-county. This moment is deeply personal, emotional, and inspiring to me.
For over a decade, as I sought leadership in Bukooli North, I consistently advocated for education, equity, and access to opportunities for our people. Seeing Buluguyi — a sub-county that has never had a secondary school since its existence — finally attain this milestone is both fulfilling and historic.
This institution represents more than classrooms and buildings; it symbolizes hope, empowerment, and a renewed promise for the future of our children and our community.
As Nelson Mandela rightly observed, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Today, Buluguyi has taken a bold step toward that transformation.

Colleagues, the Speakership of the 12th Parliament is not merely a position — it is a responsibility to defend the credibility, independence, and integrity of our institution.

We need a Speaker who understands the law, respects procedure, values dialogue, and believes that every Member matters.

Hon. Mwiru Paul is that leader.

Steady. Principled. Accessible. Accountable.

A Speaker ready to lead with courage, humility, and unwavering respect for the rules and traditions of Parliament.

Together, let us usher in a Parliament that commands respect at home and abroad.

Support Hon. Mwiru Paul for Speaker of the 12th Parliament.

Today, as Members of Parliament and leaders of the National Unity Platform, we reflected deeply on the future of Uganda’s Parliament and the urgent need to restore its dignity, credibility, and public trust.
At a time when our Parliament faces serious challenges — from corruption allegations to declining public confidence — Uganda deserves leadership that is principled, accountable, inclusive, and committed to the true business of the August House.
That is why we proudly stand behind Hon. Mwiru Paul as our candidate for Speaker of the 12th Parliament.
Hon. Mwiru represents the leadership Uganda needs: a man of integrity, a seasoned lawyer, God-fearing, humble, and ready to listen. He believes in servant leadership, collective decision-making, accountability, and respect for every Member of Parliament regardless of political affiliation.
The 12th Parliament must not be a house of fear, favoritism, or transactional politics. It must be a Parliament that values every voice, upholds constitutionalism, protects oversight, and works faithfully for the people of Uganda.
With Hon. Mwiru Paul, we envision a Parliament that restores honor to the institution, strengthens democracy, and leads with transparency, responsibility, and unity.
The time for credible, accountable, and people-centered leadership is now.
Hon. Mwiru Paul for Speaker — Integrity. Accountability. Inclusive Leadership.
