💚 Keeping Children Safe and Meaningfully Engaged This Holiday.

As schools across Uganda close for the first term holiday, millions of children and young people have returned home to their families. This is a precious but also a challenging one time.

Many parents are busy with gardening and farming, and children often end up with little rest, limited supervision, and few meaningful activities to keep them safe and positively engaged. For adolescents, this can increase risks around protection, peer pressure, and unsafe environments.

At ACYP Uganda, we encourage families and communities to create safe spaces and involve children in activities that build skills, confidence, and responsibility:

•Home learning activities — reading, storytelling, simple research tasks
•Light household participation — not overworking, but helping in ways that build discipline
•Creative projects — drawing, music, crafts, gardening
•Sports and play — essential for health and emotional wellbeing
•Family conversations — strengthening trust and guidance

Every child deserves rest, protection, and opportunities to grow all the time and during holidays.

Let’s work together to ensure our children are safe, supported, and meaningfully engaged throughout this break.

Empowering Children Where They Are

NO CHILD SHOULD GO HUNGRY.

At ACYP, we believe that no child should go hungry.
We work passionately to ensure families have access to seedlings, farm inputs, natural and artificial fertilizers and agricultural advisory services while empowering them to grow food and sustain their homes.

Every child deserves at least two meals a day, a chance to learn, and a life free from hunger.

Together, we can build communities where children and young people thrive healthy, strong, and full of hope.

🌐 International Girls in ICT Day –23rd-April-2026. A Story of Growth, Courage & Possibility

Today, as the world celebrates International Girls in ICT Day, we proudly honour one of our own - a girl who walked into ACYP at just 9 years old, full of curiosity and potential. Years later, she has grown into a confident young woman pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in ICT and Mathematics, now in her second year at university.

Her journey is a powerful reminder that when girls are supported, encouraged, and given opportunities, they rise and they lead.
Today, she serves as the Volunteer Coordinator at ACYP Uganda, guiding other young people with the same passion and determination she discovered here as a child.

Her story is not just a celebration, it is a message to every girl: Your dreams are valid. Your talent is needed. Your future in ICT is possible. At ACYP Uganda, we remain committed to creating pathways for girls to explore technology, build skills, and shape the digital world.

Every Child Deserves a Chance to Succeed

At ACYP Uganda, we believe that every child and young person deserves a chance to succeed, whether they are academically gifted or thrive through hands on, practical skills.

This is why we support learners in mainstream schools and colleges, while also creating opportunities for out of school young people through apprenticeships and vocational pathways.

Every young person has potential. Every young person has talent. And every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a meaningful future.

🌟 Little Explorers Club – Kasasa Community 🌟

ACYP is thrilled to launch the Little Explorers Club in Kasasa, serving 4 villages, running every Saturday from 2–5pm. This is a fun, safe space where children 5-9 learn, play, and grow through activities like: Arts & crafts, Reading & storytelling, Music, dance & drama, In and Outdoor games, Environmental activities, Life skills & exploration games
