New Generation Transformers was first conceived in 2011 though our serious or formal programs started in 2012. After eight years of my work with street girls and boys, destitute in different local communities and youths in juvenile centers. I discovered that youths/children needed much more than school fees and daily food if they are to leave an ideal responsible and influential life when they gro
w up. We realized that they also needed a total character transformation and Life empowerment. Then I joined hands with likeminded friends who had long term expertise in Children and youths mentoring and life coaching. We designed a program that we believe can bridge that gap, we use different approaches for us to achieve this. We have the theoretical series that we teach the youths and the children but we also have a number of practical activities and packages that we use to impact these young people. In 2013 we started a program that brought the parents and children/youths workers on board, because of the obvious reason that “Charity begins at home”. Much as we do all this with the children and the youths, they spent much of their time with their parental figures, so these figures should know what is required to have a proper growth and success of their children. OUR DRIVE:
The driving force behind all that we do is the love and commitment to reduce the generational crisis of perverted youths that we are facing in the world today which results from the media, peer-pressure, lack of proper parental guidance, mentors and proper models in life that can inspire the young generation among others. Our passion is to challenge the children/youths to creatively think of ways of overcoming their generation challenges. Therefore, the approach we use in these programs help to stimulate growth and development of a holistic person by ministering to the several spheres of life i.e. Spiritual, social, career guidance and counseling for the mental and physical. We want to prevent the “Kwashiorkor” syndrome from our youths before it becomes a permanent defect which comes when they are good in one area and worse in another. We have taken it upon ourselves to equip the youths/children with precepts of life that can enable them to confront the problems of their generation within our society. We help the youths to achieve their full potential by equipping them with skills and help them to realize their life passions and purposes through living a purposeful life, developing a vision and mission for life, nurturing character for positive living, facilitating emotional healing and general life transformation. A generation fully natured, transformed, empowered and quipped with the principles of life, Self reliance and Sustainability. To mobilize, empower, transform and equip the young people with principles that will help them to achieve self reliance and discovering their God given life purpose. PHILOSOPHY: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. THE FOUR MAJOR PROGRAMS OF N.G.T:
Transformation and Empowerment Camps. This is an intensive transforming and empowering camp program organized during holidays for the youths and children, it has several programs that are intended to touch the social, mental, spiritual and Physical dimensions of the participants. These camps are organized for two categories; the first category is for Children between the age of six to twelve and the second category is for the youths between the ages of thirteen to the age of eighteen. For most of our sessions we still go ahead to divide these groups into other smaller groups because we know that the perceptions, challenges and the understanding of a fourteen year is different from that of a seventeen year old, and for some sessions we divide girls and boys depending on how sessions have been planned. Mentoring and Parenting workshops. We organize conferences and workshops for parents and all children workers to sensitize and coach them on the areas that are commonly ignored during the upbringing of children and help them to know the basics of good parenting. We also seek to instill in them the abilities to equip their children with traits that will enable them to overcome the many risks and threats that are haunting today’s youths and children. We counsel Children workers and parents to become the first role models of their children as this determines the kind of families their children will build, train them to be hard working and to protect their rights while preserving their morals, values and good conduct. Community empowerment & Transformation. New generation transformers also reaches out to different community groups, Schools and Universities. The purpose of these outreaches is to open up the minds of such groups to live an exemplary, resourceful and purposeful life. Under this program we also mobilize young people to do community service among the least and last communities and families; this helps them to appreciate the reality of most of the principles that we teach them, such as Servant leadership, Resourcefulness, Team work, Responsibility, Creativity, Taking initiative and many others. We engage some of the youths that have been through our programs to reach out to their schools, institutions, churches, villages and any sort of communities to make influence; it is hard for them to master the art of servant leadership unless they begin with such voluntary impactful outreaches to their communities. WORD FROM THE FOUNDER. I have had a burden of the young generation put on my heart ever since I was a youth. I tried to follow my heart through Sunday school, reaching out to my fellow community children and schoolmates; little did I know that God was speaking to me. God is so good that he makes us to go through certain experiences and interact with certain people so that he can help us to discover our life purpose. I worked with children for close to nine years, four years leaving with over thirty teenagers in the same house and five years coordinating and heading a mentoring, Counseling and transformation program which operates in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi and Southern Sudan. For all these years, I closely interacted with children and youths from different family backgrounds; those from stable families, broken families, remand homes such as Kampiringisa and Naguru, those from the streets and many other walks of life. I worked with police, ministry of gender, church leaders, and community leaders in different areas of my operations and parents of different levels and status in matters of children and youths. All these coupled with my life experience, passions and connections with experienced partners in life empowerment, transformation and character modification set a basis for this initiative. I have seen children from stable and wealth families get spoilt and become failures in life yet they have all that they need, but I have also seen children from very poor/desperate families and street children climb the ladder to greater heights and realize their dreams yet everyone had written them off and did not think of such mysteries. Many teenagers are suffering with emotions and issues, some even cannot trust to share with you or their parents and guardians because of fear of your responses. Such suppressed emotions are killing them as well as destroying their future slowly by slowly.
