Tomorrow, 29th August, we come together as a nation for National Cleaning Day!

I call upon all Ugandans to take part in this important community effort. Let us clean our homes, streets, workplaces and public spaces, and take collective responsibility for the environment around us.

A clean Uganda begins with each one of us. Let’s get involved and make a difference.

See you tomorrow!

On behalf of the people of Bunyoro, I extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to H.E. President , Her Majesty the Queen Mother, the Royal Family of Tooro, and the entire Aba'Tooro on the passing of His Royal Majesty King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.

This is a profound national loss. His Majesty embodied unity, peace, cultural pride, and visionary youthful leadership, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.

We stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Tooro during this difficult time. May the Almighty grant you strength and comfort, and may His Majesty's soul rest in eternal peace.

Today, I joined the people of Hoima Diocese at Bujumbura Cathedral Parish in Hoima City to witness the ordination of six deacons and 13 seminarians into priesthood and diaconate ministry.

We are grateful to receive more shepherds to serve the Lord’s flock. I reaffirmed our commitment to supporting the Church, whose contribution to the socio-economic development of our communities and the strengthening of the family as the foundation of society is invaluable.

I called upon our priests and religious leaders to complement spiritual teachings with messages on economic empowerment, so that our people can grow both spiritually and economically.

I also encouraged the people of Bunyoro to embrace and preserve Runyoro, our language, as an important pillar of our heritage, identity and culture.

May God bless the newly ordained and guide them in their ministry.

Today, we laid to rest Owek. Isaac Kalembe Akiiki in Hoima.

Owek. Isaac Kalembe served as Speaker of the Parliament of , where he played an important role in advancing legislation and budgets to support children and youth, our culture and heritage, and the broader development of our Kingdom.
He was also a passionate researcher, historian, and author whose work contributed immensely to the documentation of Bunyoro-Kitara's history. His book on Omukama Cwa II Kabalega remains one of the most sought-after works on the great Omukama and our history.

I called upon mourners and the general public to support the establishment of the Isaac Kalembe Foundation, through which we can preserve and advance his legacy.

May his soul rest in eternal peace. His work, his knowledge, and his love for Bunyoro will live on.
Rest well, Owek. Isaac Kalembe Biromaiso Akiiki.

As we head out tomorrow to elect our Local Council leaders, let us vote for leaders who are responsible, reliable, honest, and committed to serving our communities. Let us also rally behind NRM candidates so that together we can continue implementing the NRM Manifesto and delivering government programs that improve the lives of our people.

Your vote is your voice. Vote wisely. Vote for progress. Vote NRM.
