The National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) is a Government of Uganda organization under the Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF). NAADS is a key actor in the Ministry's Development and Strategic Investment Plan (DSIP) contributing to Prosperity For All (PFA) with a goal of increasing productivity and household incomes.

Today, Uganda proudly flagged off its first-ever sea export of fresh Hass avocados to Spain. The container, valued at $40,000, represents a major breakthrough for the country’s agricultural exports. Spearheaded by Avotein Farms Ltd with support from NAADS, this achievement highlights the growing potential of Uganda's avocado industry on the global stage.

Speaking at the flag-off, NAADS Executive Director Samuel Mugasi hailed the moment as a key milestone in developing Uganda’s Hass avocado value chain. He encouraged farmers to embrace avocado cultivation, assuring them of Government of Uganda’s unwavering commitment through MAAIF to provide support at every stage of production and export.

NAADS showcasing the innovations in the hass avocado, macadamia, apples, grapes and cashew nuts value chains at the 24th EAC MSMEs trade fair at Freedom Hall, Juba, South Sudan. The 10 days trade fair is organized under the theme "Promotion of unique innovations and skills development amongst EAC MSMEs". It has attracted thousands of exhibitors from the 8 EAC Member States.

To embrace value addition, members of the Dwaniro Dairy and Livestock Farmers Cooperative in Kiboga District launched a mini dairy processing plant to prevent their milk from being wasted. Producing over 35,000 liters of milk per day, this plant, which has a membership of up to 800 farmers, will now be producing dairy products like yogurt, pasteurized milk, and cheese.
