President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday commissioned the newly refurbished Kayunga hospital.
👉It was upgraded to 300 bed capacity.
👉Renovated and expanded the old buildings and construction of an emergency department, administration block, theatre, out and in-patient ward.
👉130 staff houses
👉sewage lagoon,
👉laboratories,
👉 pharmacies and a blood bank.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has commissioned the Mubende—Kakumiro—Kibaale—Kagadi road [107Km]. The all weather road, will improve access to economic opportunities by reducing transport costs and lower market prices for final products.
➡Speaking at the functiion, the President said the road sector is one of the top priorities to cause sustained economic growth and contribute to poverty reduction in Uganda.
➡The new road offers connectivity to the rich & endowed Greater Bunyoro region with numerous tourism sites including Murchison Falls National Park, Nkusi & Kangombe Forest Reserves, all habitats for unique flora & fauna.
➡Agriculture being the main economic activity in Mubende, Kakumiro, Kibaale and Kagadi employing over 70%, 80%, 89%70% respectively of the districts population, with the new road, marketable volumes of produce have increased given that farmers are now linked to markets.
➡Mubende—Kakumiro—Kibaale—Kagadi road will also facilitate Oil & Gas related traffic to the Graben via Mubende and offer alternative routes to the Oil fields increasing traffic for all vehicle categories by 25% on the new road
➡A journey that used to take 03 DAYS from Kagadi to Kampala now takes 03 HOURS!

"When people complain about building a road into DR Congo, they do not know what they are talking about. Everybody knows that Uganda is landlocked. That road will solve most of our problems.
It will cut travel time and increase trade in this area (Budibugyo)". -

Uganda and DR congo plan to jointly build a road linking Kasindi to Beni 80kms, Beni to Butembo (54kms) and Bunagana to Rutshuru (89km). DRC is one of Uganda's top export markets, with exports from Uganda accounting for about $533m in 2018

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni commissioned the recently completed Kyenjojo—Fort portal Road [50Km]. Construction of this road was fully funded by the Government of .

The road begins at Kyenjojo, east of Fort portal on the road to Mubende, and ends at a T-junction near Mpanga Market in Fort -portal.
It is a major link to the neighboring countries of Democratic Republic of Congo [DRC] and Rwanda and also serves as a transit route for tourists to the Rwenzori Mountains and other National Parks located in Western Uganda.
This road will improve regional movements within the North Western Uganda & through Lamia and Mpondwe link with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has commissioned multi-billion projects in the Rwenzori region
➡️Commissioned the 58km Ishaka- Katunguru road in Rubirizi district. The Shs 118 billion rehabilitated road is fully funded by the government of Uganda, under the Uganda National development and Maintenance Programme (NRDMP).

The road situated in western Uganda, connects Bushenyi to Kasese district and runs from Ishaka Municipality through Rubirizi district to Katunguru town at Kazinga channel in Kasese district. It will be a major tourism booster as it provides a link to Queen Elizabeth
National Park, a tourist attraction in the southern part of the country.

➡️Also commissioned is the Shillings 16 billion Kasese Central Modern market, in Kasese Municipality.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has commissioned the Sigulu ferry.

The ferry connects Islanders of Sigulu & Lolwe, over 50Kms away from mainland Namayingo District, a distance previously sailed by canoes & small engine boats.

Sigulu ferry is now Uganda's LARGEST passenger ferry with 300 passenger capacity & space for over 18 M/Vs.

The recently completed Musita-Lumino/Busia-Majanji road provides a connection to Namayingo town which is a few minutes to Watega landing site where the MV Sigulu sails to the islands
