🇧🇪🚲🇺🇬 🩺 Empowering health workers on two wheels in !

In rural areas, getting to a clinic is often the biggest hurdle to staying healthy. Community Health Workers bridge this gap by delivering maternal care, health education and disease monitoring straight to people's doorsteps. However, traveling long distances on foot severely limits how many families they can visit each day.

To solve this, is thrilled to back a new mobility initiative. Enabel in Uganda, the Belgian agency for international cooperation, has teamed up with Ministry of Health- Uganda, Cycling out of Poverty - CooP-Africa and Babies and Mothers Alive (BAMA) to launch the Bicycle Empowerment Programme (BEP) in Kamuli District.

Belgium is helping equip 50 local health heroes with:

🚲 Reliable bicycles to cut down travel time
🛠️ Hands-on training to handle basic repairs
🔄 A local upkeep system to keep the bikes running long-term

With better transport, these workers can respond quicker and provide vital medical support to more households every single day.

✅Better mobility. Better access. Better health.
