Empowering communities starts with empowering their leaders.
Today, Action For Humanitarian Initiatives Uganda (AFHI Uganda) joined VSLA leaders at Nanfugaki Primary School in Busede Sub-county for a VSLA Leaders' Strengthening Training. The training, which continues until tomorrow, is providing leaders with an opportunity to build their leadership skills, share experiences, and learn best practices through group work and presentations.

Strong VSLA leadership contributes to stronger savings groups, improved livelihoods, and more resilient communities.

AFHI Uganda remains committed to supporting community-driven initiatives that promote economic empowerment, self-reliance, and sustainable development.

Together, we are building stronger communities.

Growing hope, one garden at a time

Women and girls in Nakivale Refugee Settlement are being empowered through modern gardening skills under the GOPA-PACE project implemented by Action For Humanitarian Initiatives Uganda.

With limited land available, beneficiaries are learning smart and sustainable farming methods that help improve food security, generate income, and support their families.

Together with support from GIZ, we are creating pathways to self-reliance and brighter futures.

Empowering women and girls, transforming communities

The PEW Project closure meeting brought together stakeholders from OPM, community leaders, local representatives, and beneficiaries to reflect on the impact created through economic empowerment and Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).

From welding and hairdressing to backyard vegetable farming, it was inspiring to witness how skills development continues to change lives and create hope for a better future.

Special appreciation to Action For Humanitarian Initiatives Uganda for organizing this impactful initiative, funded by and the Women’s Peace & Humanitarian Fund.

Together, we continue building resilient and empowered communities. 🤝✨
