Just few days ago, we saw our neighbors south Sudan closing schools because of high temperatures.

Temperatures in Uganda have been at 32 degrees as well which is pretty high.

If we don't do anything, we are headed for the worst.

Working with Humans Care Foundation we are planting trees in Uganda.

We hosted Ms Robyn Nietert from the USA last Monday. Robyn and her Organisation have been supporting groups of women in Kitswamba Town council with funds that they lend among themselves.

She was excited meeting them and was embraced by how far the project is growing.

She promised to keep supporting more groups in Kitswamba area and the entire Busongora North.

Bless.

It was another meeting day for our women under the microfinance project. As we end the year, we meet and share success stories, listen to challenges and suggest solutions that are developed by them.

This we do as we try to shift the power of decision making.

This project is a success so far as we look forward to adding more groups next year 2024.

As we expand impact, these same groups are also championing the tree planting project. Green homes is the thing.

Our Story

Educate A child international focuses its program areas in all sub counties in Kasese district,Rwenzori Region-Uganda.

For decades, large communities in the Rwenzori region, and mainly in Bundibugyo, Kasese and Ntoroko districts have on many occasions faced gruesome murders of loved ones in war situations; and vulnerable war orphans and widows are a common phenomenon in the districts of the Rwenzori region especially Kasese, Bundibugyo and Ntoroko. Five main insurgent actors have participated in this region namely, The Rwenzururu rebellion 1962-1982, Rwenzururu Freedom Movement together with the Katebwa alliance 1982-1987, The National Resistance Army, (NRA)1984-1986, National army for the liberation of Uganda (NALU) 1988-1994, Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), 1996-2002. All these have left adverse effects in terms of poverty, malnutrition, disease, ill health, etc.

The rationale for setting up EDUCATE A CHILD INTERNATIONAL (EACI) is because of a felt need to have everyone utilize human potential that would translate into development of Uganda as a nation. The youth constitute the majority of the population that is unemployed worldwide. This challenge in Rwenzori is much attributed to low entrepreneurship skills, high school dropout rates, early pregnancies and marriages, subsistence agriculture amidst the destructive impact of climate change, lack of social accountability and so on.

The above social problems require a holistic approach that should be implemented in sustainable manner to avoid future occurrence. We are therefore focusing criticlly on four thematic areas of Education, environmental conservation, health and Economic empowerment to transform society
