Today, I joined fellow leaders from Bunyoro for a stakeholders' engagement meeting at the Bunyoro Zonal Presidential Industrial Hub in Masindi.

The meeting brought together RDCs, LCVs, NRM Chairpersons and technical experts to discuss the operations of the Presidential Industrial Hub, strengthen collaboration among stakeholders, and explore strategies for advancing skills development and industrialization across the Bunyoro region.

During the engagement, the Director Presidential Hubs State House Eng Ray Kamugisha unveiled plans to expand the skilling hubs to additional areas, including Hoima, Kakumiro Districts, broaden the range of training courses offered, and introduce the Four-Acre Model at the Hub to further promote sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment.

The discussions reaffirmed our shared commitment to equipping young people with practical skills, creating employment opportunities, and accelerating socio-economic transformation through industrialization.

National Cleaning Day

Today, together with the DPC, IO UPDF, and the political and technical leadership, we joined the people of Kikuube District in the monthly clean-up exercise across our towns and trading centres.

*This mandatory exercise is being conducted in line with the directive of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda, General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, and the Cabinet.*
*It underscores our collective commitment to maintaining a clean, healthy, and safe environment for our communities.*

*We remain committed to this initiative and will continue conducting the clean-up exercise on the last Saturday of every month. **Together, let us keep our communities clean and make Kikuube a better place for everyone.*

The big c**k of Westnile, the icon of peace in Westnile and the lion of Adjumani -Rt. Hon Gen (Rtd) Moses Ali will be remembered for many things.

He served in the Uganda Army under President Milton Obote, rose swiftly after Idi Amin’s 1971 coup, fled into exile after Amin’s fall, returned as a rebel commander against Obote’s second government, reconciled with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni after the National Resistance Army seized power in 1986, and later became one of Uganda’s longest-serving ministers and deputy prime ministers.

Rt. Hon Gen (Rtd) Moses Ali loved his Country, Rest in Power -Baba.

No more Illegal fishing methods.

Together with the Fisheries Officer and security agencies, we engaged the fishing communities of Nkondo–Kabwoya and successfully harmonized the formation and operations of Landing Site Fisheries Management Committees.

These committees play a critical role in safeguarding our water resources by enforcing regulations against the use of fishing lights, illegal fishing gear and methods, sand mining in the lake, fishing within breeding grounds, and the construction of permanent structures within 200 metres of the shoreline.

As part of the mandate of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), we remain committed to supporting government efforts to streamline and regulate the fisheries sector, ensuring sustainable utilization of aquatic resources for present and future generations.

While fishing remains a legitimate source of livelihood, it must be conducted responsibly and within regulated limits to protect fish stocks and preserve the ecological integrity of our lakes.

Sustainable fisheries are not built on exploitation, but on discipline, conservation, and responsible stewardship.

I salute all stakeholders, Electoral Commission officials, and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and orderly by-election.

Special appreciation goes to all candidates and supporters for conducting mature politics. In every election, there is a winner and those who wait for another opportunity—such is the beauty of democracy. A great leader also knows how to follow and respect the people's choice.

Congratulations to my brother, Governor. Paddy Kisembo, upon his election as Chairperson of Kikuube District. I wish you wisdom, success, and God's guidance in your leadership.

Democracy is strongest when competition ends and unity begins.

In every contest, there are winners and those who must wait for another opportunity. That is the nature of democracy and life.

As the District Security Committee, we remain committed to fairness, impartiality, and the equal treatment of all candidates, supporters, and voters. We call upon everyone to remain peaceful, cooperate with the authorities, and respect the rule of law.

Let no one engage in violence, intimidation, blackmail, or any form of criminality. Security agencies are fully prepared to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of all citizens.

When the contest ends, Kikuube remains our shared home. Let peace prevail.
