Frank Tumwebaze together with State Minister for Animal Husbandry Hon. Bright Rwamirama. The two pledged to boost agricultural productivity & competitiveness.

Happiness rock a cross section of Kiruhura District elderly of 80 years and above as they begin to receive their monetary benefits through SAGE Program. You must be a Uganda senior citizen of 80 years and above with a National Identity card to benefit from this program.

Kiruhura District Local Government Council approved budget and work plan worth Ug. Shs. 23.94 Billion for the Financial Year 2020/2021.
Education Sector among all departments will take the biggest share worth shs. 7.68 Billion for both wage and development projects of constructing school facilities at Kaaro High School, Lake Mburo SS and Nyakashashara Seed School, construction of a 2-class room blocks at each of the 4 primary schools of Bunonko, Kaku, Kashongi I and Rwobusiisi, rehabilitation of school facilities and supply of 3-seater twin desks to selected primary schools. Health department takes the second place with shs 5.8 Billion for PHC wage and non-wage recurrent expenditure of all health facilities and PHC development such as up grading of 3 health Centre IIs to Health Centre IIIs of Rurambira, Rwabarata and Rwetamu all to be fully equiped. Kashongi and Nyakashashara Health Centre IIIs will both benefit with each getting a new OPD block. The other social service sectors to share on district budget include: Works 898,164,000, Water 877,242,000, Production 1,242,407,000 and CBS 719,858,000.
Kiruhura District remains focused to improving service delivery its residents as mandated.

Kiruhura District COVID-19 task force chaired by the RDC received food relief of 3.5 tonnes of maize flour, 10 hospital admission beds, 10 mattresses and 10 dinning tables from Hon. Col. Fred MP- Nyabushozi.
Also the task force received more 1 tonne of maize flour from Jovanice Rwenduru, donating to the most vulnerable Nyabushozi residents. Bishop Kwefuga of Rushere Full Gospel Church donated 1 tonne of MAIZE FLOUR to Kiruhura vulnerable groups. Please stay safe!

The Rt. Rev. Bishop Namanya Stephen of North Ankole Diocese, on behalf of the Diocese handed over 5 tonnes of Maize flour to Kiruhura District COVID-19 task force. Also he gave out a Noah vehicle to help the task force to run its day to day activities. The donated food will be shared equally with Kazo District which was recently curved out Kiruhura District.

Kiruhura District COVID-19 Task force Meeting 30th March, 2020:
The meeting that attracted all Top District leadership and the Second UPDF Division Commander resolved to continuously mobilize & sensitize public on preventive measures of contracting COVID-19 and mobilize funds to help facilitate the fight and prevent the disease in the District. So far so good, no case has been reported in the District.
