Sippin' with the Sheriff in Delcambre this morning was a huge success. I'd like to thank Cotty Champagne and Ricky Luquette for opening the doors of Delcambre Fuel Depot to the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office team and the Delcambre community this morning for September’s Sippin with the Sheriff event. I’m also grateful to the Delcambre Fuel Depot staff for generously providing breakfast and coffee for our event this morning. Joining us from Delcambre’s
leadership were Mayor Tipper Esponge, and Alderman Tevin Lewis.

Thank you, also, to our local and state leaders who joined us this morning. Joining us were Representative Jacob Landry for Louisiana, Jake Benoit from U.S. Senator Kennedy’s Office, Krystal Romero from Attorney General Liz Murill’s Office, and Erath Chief of Police Anna LaPointe. Your support of the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office is always appreciated.

Mark your calendars Erath; the VPSO Team is headed your way on November 4th.

Lyndi and I had a great time in New Orleans today alongside Vermilion Parish and state leaders, for the official kickoff of Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s Love Our Waterways initiative.

I want to thank my friend Billy Nungesser Lt. Governor of Louisiana, Keep Louisiana Beautiful and everyone who has worked to make this effort possible. The Lieutenant Governor has always been a great friend to Vermilion Parish, and we appreciate everything he does to support our communities and help keep Louisiana beautiful.

Our Vermilion Parish Love Our Waterways Community Cleanup is this Thursday, September 3 from 7:30am-11:30am, and I hope you’ll join us. We’re blessed with some of the most beautiful waterways and natural resources anywhere in Louisiana, and it’s up to all of us to do our part to take care of them.

We look forward to seeing everyone out there!

Today marks a historic moment for Vermilion Parish.

Governor Jeff Landry, SpaceX President and COO Gwynne Shotwell, and Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Susan Bourgeois announced plans for Starbase Louisiana, a transformational project that will produce and launch SpaceX Starships from Pecan Island and bring thousands of jobs to Vermilion Parish.

Governor Landry spoke of the “transformational change that will echo for generations” and the opportunity to build a bright future for Vermilion Parish and Louisiana with a future that knows no boundaries.

I am excited about the future of Vermilion Parish and proud that our parish will play such an important role in Louisiana’s future. This level of economic development will create new opportunities for our residents, strengthen our communities, and have a lasting impact for generations to come. I look forward to all that lies ahead.

Thank you to everyone who worked to make this project possible and a special to all of theVermilion Parish Sheriff's Office deputies and all other law enforcement officers who worked tirelessly to ensure today’s announcement was a safe and successful event.
