Great Southern Wood Preserving, producer of YellaWood pressure treated lumber and founded right here in Abbeville in 1970, is expanding its national footprint with a new $40 million lumber treatment facility in North Carolina.

From its Henry County roots to now 17 locations across 12 states, Great Southern Wood is a tremendous example of what vision, hard work, and strong leadership can build. We are proud to call this homegrown company one of our own and congratulate the entire Great Southern Wood team on another exciting milestone!

The company is investing $40 million in a lumber processing plant at Laurinburg-Maxton Airport in North Carolina and will create 43 jobs.
