🏈🍿 IT WAS NACHO AVERAGE FRIDAY AT AES!

Today, our students AND staff showed their College Game Day spirit by rocking their favorite college gear!

While our students enjoyed slushies and freshly popped popcorn, our staff were treated to donuts provided by Miss Coker and a delicious nacho bar courtesy of Principal Taylor and AP Lawrence!

It was the perfect way to celebrate football season and head into a long Labor Day weekend!

Good food, school spirit, and happy faces made today one to remember!

It was definitely NACHO AVERAGE Friday at AES!

Thank you for giving your time, jumping in to help, and making our Friday extra special! Our kiddos were SO happy to see the popcorn waiting for them, and their smiles and excitement were priceless!

🍏💚 Green Day in Pre-K! 💚🍏

Our Pre-K students had a fun-filled Green Day! They explored the color green and enjoyed an apple-tasting activity featuring red, green, and yellow apples.

Before tasting, students voted on which apple they thought they would like best. Then, after tasting each one, they voted again! 🍎🍏

We love watching our little learners make predictions, try new things, and share their opinions!

Learning is always more fun when you can taste it!

🌟 Good News Club Wednesday! 🌟

Our students enjoyed another great Wednesday at Good News Club with sponsor Nick Wilson!

This week’s lesson focused on staying focused when things around us become distracting. Students learned through the story of Peter walking on water and how losing focus can cause us to lose our footing.

It was a meaningful lesson about keeping our attention on what matters, trusting the process, and not allowing distractions to get in the way.

We appreciate Mr. Wilson for continuing to invest his time and energy into our students each week!

Students in Mrs. Loper’s class simulated a car crash using toy cars to explore energy transfer and collisions. They observed what happens when cars collide and saw firsthand how energy can be transferred and changed during a collision.

Who knew a little crash could lead to such BIG learning?

Our 2nd Grade Yellow Jackets got hands-on today as they collaborated on a patina experiment!

Students have been learning about the Statue of Liberty and how its color changed over time. Today, they put their learning to the test using salt, vinegar, and pennies to observe how a patina forms.

Our 4th grade students will participate in a special lesson with Counselor Dawkins focused on friendship, kindness, treating others with respect, and making positive choices. After the lesson, each student will receive their own book to take home and enjoy.
