Army Chemical Materials Activity (CMA) is the world leader in programs to store, treat and dispose of chemical weapons safely and effectively. The organization developed and used technologies to safely store and eliminate chemical weapons at seven stockpile sites while protecting the public, its workers and the environment. CMA also has the storage mission at the nationโ€™s final two stockpile sites

. CMA headquarters management team, as well as scientific, communications and support staff, is based at the Edgewood area of Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, while other dedicated managers and staff fulfill the activityโ€™s mission at the two remaining chemical weapons stockpile storage sites at Blue Grass Army Depot, Kentucky, and Pueblo Chemical Depot, Colorado, as well as recovered chemical agent materiel sites and locations across the country.

With a final, crisp salute and the solemn furling of its flag, the Blue Grass Chemical Activity formally cased its colors this morning at the Armed Forces Reserve Center. The occasion marked the official deactivation of BGCA and the historic conclusion of a multi-decade national security mission. The ceremony signifies the final completion and verification of an entire class of weapons from the United States' arsenal for the first time in global history.

He was presented the ๐™ƒ๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™ค๐™ง๐™–๐™ง๐™ฎ ๐™Š๐™ง๐™™๐™ฃ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š ๐™Š๐™ง๐™™๐™š๐™ง ๐™ค๐™› ๐™Ž๐™–๐™ข๐™ช๐™š๐™ก ๐™Ž๐™๐™–๐™ง๐™ฅ๐™š award on behalf of retired Chief Warrant Officer 5 David Cassity, president of the Ordnance Corps Association.

Redstone Chemical Activity supports the Army's investigative environmental remediation and storage activities at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama and is now aligned as a subordinate unit under Army Sustainment Command.
