Meet Sgt. Jose Martinez, a Unit Supply Specialist (92Y) with the 52nd Ordnance Group located at Fort Campbell. Martinez is Puerto Rican, Dominican, and Cuban, and as a part of Hispanic Heritage Month, we asked him to speak on that.

What is it like being Hispanic in the Army? I have to say being Hispanic in the Army doesn’t feel any different from being any other ethnicity, and it shouldn’t. In the past, I faced discrimination because of my culture or heritage. Since I joined active duty, it has been a different experience. I haven’t encountered that same adverse treatment. This leadership I work with is phenomenal, and they take care of you. Everyone works together to succeed, and I love that about the Army. It’s one of the reasons I’m still serving.

Merry Christmas, This is for all those who have or will miss Christmas while serving for us. Roger
Hi, I have a question for the experts. My father was a member of the 21st Chemical Co. at camp Bowie in Texas in 1942. What Army group were they under? Background: After Camp Bowie he went for training at Edgewood Arsenal, then to OCS. He was shipped to England and was stationed at RAF Seething, U.S. Station 146, Seething, Norfolk, England. He was the base chemical officer. In England he wore the 21st Chem. Co. Patch. Then his patch changed to AAF then to 8th AAF. Thanks for your help.
Rest in Peace.
Great PT this morning!
