I replied to an article written by Ana Russo in The Pilot Newspaper about v**e products in Moore County. Here is my reply...

I find it interesting that no extensive research has been conducted via the media for the abuses of alcohol dependence. One only has to watch court calendars to see the end and [continuing] results of alcohol related offenses. Alcohol is widely distributed in local stores and state approved ABC Stores. Tax revenue is proudly displayed on ABC paper bags. How many fatal crashes are a result of the use of marijana or court cases of domestic violence?

Has the use of chemical or natural "w**d" become an issue when social strata is overwhelmed by the use of alcohol!

For those who "inhaled" (unlike President Clinton), is society forcing us to use or consume the Legal drug of choice as prescribed by the General Assembly here in North Carolina? Just about every politician receives campaign contributions from alcohol distributors ... all of them.

The sale of cannabinoid products in other states has produced an tax windfall. Our state is far behind in social realization for our personal use. Or is like mandating a helmet when riding a motorcycle? What they think is good for you and your health. Should that be the case, then stop breathing contaminated air from polluters like Duke Energy and their coal fired power plants.

Just one persons' perspective, meeting a drunk driver on the road is much more dangerous than someone driving slow while on a buzz trip. Just one persons' observations."

What an election year we've experienced so far this year. Too many world issues to recite or comment on the world of politics ... regurgitate.

The new House member: Ben Moss Jr., is still making his way through the political mine field with Republican agendas leading a way to staunch laws reflecting one political agenda. "let us decide everything for you" ... you can't vote on legalization of Cannibus, or for personal use. I've contacted Representative Moss Jr. on several occasions', and not unlike his predecessor, Jamie Boles, responding or replying to messages are alien to him. Wait until election time again, but wait, he will run unopposed. Unless the Republicans lose favor with Mr. Moss Jr. and bump him for another candidate. Where is Lowell Simon when we need him?

And to think, Mark Robinson, wants to lead our state. There has never been a more outspoken candidate on every issue that most of - hold disdain. He's changed his "opinion" several times on the matter of abortion. The challenges for women must meet his personal preferences!

As with most Republicans, if the body has a p***s, then the decision about a woman's body is NOT anyone's business - period. Albeit, if you breed 'em, then you feed 'em.

Republicans are good at complicating peoples lives with their own rules to live, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Vote like your life depends on it, since in reality it really does. Think in terms of health care, and reasonable drug prices. Those concerns and public health initiatives perpetuate one's ability to provide for a family. As an unaffiliated voters I get to pick and chose candidates which I do every general election.

North Carolina is back in the stone age when it comes to modern medicine. Doctors at UNC Chapel Hill sends patients to Virginia for medical ma*****na. 38 states have passed legislation to enjoy the tax revenues from passing bills to legalize w**d. Contact our House Representative Ben Moss and you get the silent treatment and a total lack of representation ... we need people in office who represent our interests and education needs "w**d" revenue more so than lottery "winnings" [LOL]. Vote the sandbaggers out so we can have representatives who will listen to all opinions. The last I heard they are studying the long term effects of Canibus ... that's an old folk lure since ma*****na goes back as far as history. It was widely used in Viet Nam. Stop in to your local V**e shop and ask how many 1.5 rolling papers they sell in a DAY! The Pilot could write a story on this medical phenonium.

******PARENTS TAKE NOTICE IF YOUR CHILD OR GRANDCHILD ATTENDS COMMUNITY LEARING CENTER AT PINCKNEY IN CARTHAGE*****VERY DANGEROUS ENVIORONMENT!!!

Recently a student attending school at the Community Learning Center at Pinckney was holding a door for other students to enter a room when his arm went through the glass. Causing a sever laceration to his wrist, thumb and small finger. The staff member who applied a tourniquet had no training since he didn't know the difference in "venous" bleeding and "arterial" spirting. Very dangerous and can very possibly lead to the loss of a limb. TRAINING is in adequate.

Once the staff applied a tourniquet to his upper arm and his hand was wrapped glass was found embedded in his wounds when the dressings were removed; he was transported to First Health of the Carolina's for treatment in the ER by ambulance.

Much like most treatment at FHC it was marginal at best since the young man had glass shards embedded in the palm of his hand. The ER doctors closed his wounds and sent him home without care instructions. Only a date to have his stiches removed.

Later that evening the pain increased to an unbearable level so his girlfriends mother drove him to UNC Chapel Hill ER where he was treated again [twice in one day] and glass fragments were removed, cleaned and dressed again.

Sounds much like a typical day at school with one exception: Does glass in a door need to be tempered?

According to what is known as the International Residential Code, all glass and panels must be tempered in these types of doors: swinging, sliding, operable, fixed, and bifold. This is true regardless of panel size.

This code applies to all codes nationally and North Carolina Building Codes. Having been a licensed General Contractor for over 40 years, I know building codes and requirements.

In essence, Moore County Schools has violated North Carolina Law!

Board member Philip Homes' response when I informed him of the liability for law suits, his reply, "whatever!" Well it's only a violation of state law.

He said, "why does everybody want to sue?" Because perhaps the school or schools are negligent.

I suspect a legal proceeding will be forthcoming in the near future due to the lack of empathy by Dr. Kenna Wilson who told me, "they care deeply about their parents and students"... perhaps ~ but not when it comes to eminent danger ... like illegal glass that doesn't meet building code requirements.

I assure you there will be more to come on this matter of mutual concern and in the mean time call the Moore County Building Inspections office and demand an accounting of the investigation into code violations.

When I spoke to an Inspector at the Moore County Planning Department I was told to have my attorney call him!!! I am a Moore County tax payer who phoned in a complaint! I deserve better than a brush off by an employee who I help pay his salary!

Straw Poll: How many voters are fed up with all the unbridled political attacks in Washington and across our nation? Decency doesn't exist any longer. Trump was the worst president ever in our history. Biden has father/son issues that any parent would try to defend. If you do the crime, then expect to pay with your freedom. That applies to all the "Gym" [sic] Jordan's out there who without any legal background intimidates Attorney General Merrick B. Garland with personal attacks. Is this the behavior we as citizens expect from our elected representatives? Not I - for only one man's opinion.

I received a reply from Senator Thom Tillis regarding an email I sent to him regarding legalization of ma*****na. Here is his reply:




Dear Mr. Davis:

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding the legalization of ma*****na.

I believe we must continue to educate ourselves on the short-term and long-term health and societal impacts of ma*****na. It is important to note the distinction between legalization—which makes ma*****na broadly available—and decriminalization measures, as North Carolina is one of 31 states that passed a law to prevent the incarceration of individuals who are found to possess a small amount of ma*****na on their first offense.

I believe the legalization of ma*****na-based products for medical use deserves serious consideration, which is why it is crucial that we continue to research and understand the benefits and consequences of medical ma*****na. Burdensome government regulations should not be an impediment to legitimate and responsible medical research. Public policy should reflect the science when research shows life-changing benefits, which is why when I was Speaker of the House of Representatives in North Carolina, I strongly supported legislation to allow doctors to recommend ma*****na-derived oil to patients who suffer from epilepsy.

Last Congress, I was pleased to introduce and support the passage of S. 253, the Cannabidiol and Ma*****na Research Expansion Act, which removes unnecessary barriers to research and allows scientists to study the biochemical processes, impact, dosing, risks, and possible benefits of medical ma*****na and cannabidiol (CBD). A House companion to this bill was signed into law by President Biden on December 2, 2022. This law will ensure that research on CBD and other potentially beneficial ma*****na-derived substances is based on sound science while reducing the regulatory barriers associated with conducting research on ma*****na.

As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, I serve on the committee with jurisdiction over the legalization of ma*****na. Please know that if legislation regarding ma*****na comes before the Senate Judiciary Committee or the full Senate, I will keep your thoughts in mind.

Our July 4th holiday met with fireworks' explosions across the country and globe. Festive times indeed for families to come together for fun and enjoyment. This is the cover image of a gun crazed country fueled by the NRA and Gun Lobby buying elected officials' votes. Mass killings have become the norm for a deaf congress members. Always the same damned mantra, "let's all pray for the victims and their family's."

After several congressman were wounded during a congressional softball game, one would think, now we'll see some meaningful legislation. NADA. More prayers. God gave us the wisdom to think and react and not to bury our heads in the pockets of gun lobbyists. When will all this craziness stop!

Well when people demand that congress vote on term limits and until then, our country is rapidly turning to turmoil and street gun violence. People are being gunned down in public places during the week just like going out for a candy bar as one child who was murdered in PA.

One has to question our constitution and the 2nd Amendment and the right to bear arms. A powder, cap and ball long rifle cannot be compared to 30 round magazines for 5.56 or .223 rapid firing sporting rifles.

Time to send a message to Washington. Or else!
