7/27/2024 12:41pm: The NOAA Weather Radio in Bath, SD has stopped transmitting audio. Our technicians are troubleshooting the issue, but we don't have an estimated time that it will return to service.

Update: Aberdeen Audio Feeds have implemented a few changes on our public safety channel to expand coverage.

- We are now using a 2 channel audio setup fed with 2 scanners.
Left channel: NXDN48, County Digital, ABDN Fire, EMS
Right channel: APCO-25, SD State Radio, Hwy Patrol, BC Fire(analog), NWS, and most legacy systems.
APD NXDN96 is still encrypted

- Aberdeen tower, State Radio is now set to ID search, this allows all talk groups to be active. May see increased traffic. Peak activity times get very interesting..

- Resolved issues with Brown Co Fire Dispatch 460.600 analog. When downloading programming from Radio Reference it was discovered that the PL tone provided was incorrect in the database. Originally showing 192 tone, and is currently running on 77hz tone FYI for those who program their own.. (Radio Reference has been notified).

Our radar went down due to equipment failure. The restoration time is unknown. Surrounding radars that can be accessed in the meantime include Rapid City (KUDX), Bismarck, ND (KBIS), Sioux Falls (KFSD), and Grand Forks, ND (KMVX). Thank you for your patience.

**NOAA WEATHER RADIO OUTAGE IN PIERRE, SD**

The tower that supports the transmitter for NOAA Weather Radio station WXM-26 in Pierre, operating on 162.400 MHz, needs emergency repairs. Starting July 28th, broadcast will be suspended as work is expected to begin. An extended outage of NOAA Weather Radio WXM-26 in Pierre is tentatively anticipated through mid to late September as the new tower is constructed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Persons receiving weather forecasts, watches, warnings, and other information through NOAA Weather Radio can alternatively turn to www.weather.gov/abr, as well as various media outlets, for weather information.
