🔥🚨Working Fire Alert🚨🔥

E214 currently operating in Havre de Grace on a working fire in the 503-1 Box. E214 arrived and operated as the 3rd arrive engine grabbing their own water source and stretching their own line for fire extinguishment activities.

🚨 Incident Alert / Traffic Update on I-95 Northbound 🚨

Aberdeen Fire Department and Susquehanna Hose Company units have cleared the scene and are back in service following a Hazmat Box / Fuel Spill from a tractor-trailer MVC on I-95 Northbound at Mile Marker 85.7.

Approximately 75 gallons of diesel fuel leaked from a ruptured fuel tank during recovery operations. The Harford County Department of Emergency Services Special Ops Team was requested for a pump-off detail but was canceled after it was determined the remaining fuel was unrecoverable.

Units Operating:
• Chief 2 (Command)
• Engine 214
• Battalion Chief 2-1
• Chief 5-1
• Engine 515
• Utility 5-5

Maryland State Police, Maryland Department of Environment (MDE), and the towing company remain on scene. Expect continued traffic delays and use caution while traveling through the area.

Tonight at 2028 hrs, the Aberdeen Fire Department was alerted for a mutual aid response to Abingdon for a reported structure (townhouse) fire in the 100 block of Laurel Woods Court.

Engine 214 and Chief 2-1 responded immediately after clearing a local medical call and arrived on scene at 2041 hrs. Engine 214 was assigned as the RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) Engine, standing by to support firefighter safety and emergency rescue operations if needed.

Crews remained on scene assisting until being released at 2108 hrs.

The mornings still feel the chill but as the rest of the day gets warmer here are some safety tips for everyone itching to start Spring Cleaning! ☀️

1. Prevent fires caused by flammable liquids
~Have a designated location that is dry and out of the sun
~Properly use and store gasoline for all the lawn equipment
~Carefully dispose of rags with paint and oil on them, the are
known to spontaneously ignite causing a fire
2. Inspect grills to ensure they are in good working order
3. Keep debris well away from the home to prevent damage or
possible fire exposure
4. Clean out your dryer vents
