September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month.
Sometimes making a difference can start with something as simple as checking in on a friend, family member, coworker, or neighbor. A conversation and a willingness to listen can go a long way.
If you or someone you know is struggling, there are resources available:
• 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 for 24/7 crisis support.
• Our Mental Health & Addiction Officer is available as a local resource for individuals and families seeking assistance or information about mental health resources. Contact the Police Department at (605)626-7911.
• Emergency: If there is an immediate threat to life or safety, call 911.
You do not have to face a difficult time alone. Help is available, and reaching out can be the first step.
