Originating from the pagan holiday of Lupercalia, Valentine's Day celebrations date back as early as the 5th Century and have long been associated with love and romance. Have you made plans for that special someone in your life? Why not order a bouquet of flowers for that special someone from @Dee's? Wow her with a dazzling diamond from Saxon's! Or tell mom/dad they're #1 with a trophy from Tina's! Don't forget to support local restaurants and have date night, perhaps at the now open All American Steakhouse Aberdeen, MD right here in Aberdeen! The opportunities are endless for those struck with Cupid's arrow in Aberdeen!

Tomorrow Thursday, 2/10/22 beginning at 8:00am our sewer crew will be cleaning and inspecting the sewer main that runs behind houses on the 600 block of Law St and Walker St.

This cleaning operation has the unlikely potential to cause sewer water or odor to enter the home. Residents may also hear the sound of our equipment in their drains.

This is normal. As a precaution, they should keep their toilet lids closed and they may experience a slight odor if there are unused drains within the house.

Our staff will take every precaution to prevent any disturbances as they work in the area.

It may be a bit "grinchy" of us but we've already set up for residents to throw out their Christmas trees! Head on over to Michaels Lane and follow the signs to the DPW Shop. Trees must be clear of all ornaments, lights, and tinsel. And yes... you can wait until after Christmas!

Congratulations!

The Board of Directors of the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce would like to congratulate our executive director, Vickie Horne for her graduation from the Harford Leadership Academy!

This program is co-sponsored by Harford Community College and the Harford County Chamber of Commerce and is designed to promote the development of existing and emerging leaders and to create a committed, involved, and diverse network within Harford County. Through the 15 week program, future leaders are given the opportunity to learn from those who are leading today. Not only did Vickie benefit from this, but the City of Aberdeen and the entire community benefit as participants gain the knowledge and skills to lead Harford County through the 21st century.

Vickie, thank you for everything you do for our community!

ITEMS OF THE WEEK Here's the holiday story behind this week's goodies. The holidays can get a little hectic and crazy. Apparently, someone ran out of wine and must have gotten upset while decorating and let their dog out. The fire company was called and everything ended up with us. Woo Wee the holidays can get crazy. Don't fret folks and please don't throw away these beautiful items. Always remember to reuse or recycle. In the meantime we have it covered as our amazing elves at our site have captured these items prior to disposal and we will be donating to a local non-profit. Relax and Recycle!! The city is out at my property and destroying my apple tree. While some of the tree does hang over Osborn Alley it is well above 10 feet high in clearance and in compliance with the code. I am not home now to stop this destruction of property but my neighbors have notified me and taken video and pictures. I wan t this to stop and desist immediately! I was not given any notice of noncompliance nor was i made aware this was going to happen and see this as a government overreach. I want it stopped before they kill my tree please!
