The heat🥵did not stop a great June meeting! Guardians from the Hill Country chapter—Joker, Harley Quinn, and Baby CJ—their chapter gifted us adorable stuffed animals for awareness projects. They also presented President Bones with a token of appreciation from President Coma, recognizing his support for their Lil G at last month's regional track meet in Abilene. Overall, it was a great gathering!

Groomers Hiding in Kids’ YouTube Videos?

This screenshot comes from Animal Crossing, a game popular with young children. The interaction shown is not part of the actual game. It was added to a YouTube video.

Predators and bad actors know parents are less likely to worry when a video features a cute, kid-friendly game. Some create videos that appear innocent on the surface but contain brief sexual references, drug references, or other inappropriate content hidden throughout the video.

The goal is simple: desensitize children over time.

This isn’t an isolated incident. There are thousands of videos online that mix child-friendly content with adult themes.

I’ll post the YouTube link in the comments so you can see for yourself that this is real.

Parents, don’t assume that because a video contains cartoon characters, toys, or popular children’s games that it’s safe. The internet is filled with adults who are actively looking for opportunities to influence and exploit children.

Stay vigilant.

Limiting your children's access to social media doesn't make you a bad parent. The issue of online exploitation of kids in Taylor County is a serious one, especially given that 11 local residents were among the 276 people arrested during Operation Soteria Shield.
