🚨 Attention all upcoming 3rd–6th graders! 🚨

We're excited to offer a new summer opportunity designed to help build speed, agility, and strength this summer. Over 6 sessions, you will learn bodyweight movements that create a strong foundation for future athletic performance while having fun with classmates and encouraging each other to improve!

The cost is just $15 and covers all 6 sessions. Simply bring your payment to the 1st workout. If weather becomes an issue, all sessions will be moved indoors to the Abilene Middle School Gym.

Don't miss out on this great opportunity to get active, get stronger, and have some fun with your classmates this summer!

We are pleased to have so many families participating in summer meals at Eisenhower Elementary. The high level of participation has created traffic challenges. See the diagram in the photo to help us improve the traffic flow for the residents in the neighborhood. Thank you!

Another successful AMS Night of the Stars! Thank you SO much to all of the people who helped make this evening possible...

Hello AMS Families,

Here are some updates for the last week of school!

Monday, May 18 (normal 3:00 dismissal):
*8th grade finals continue
*Students will get ice cream as a treat with lunch - reward from AHS STUCO for participating in a food drive
*During STAR, we are having our annual "Yearbook Signing Party" - students that purchased yearbooks will receive them this day (there are usually extras for purchase if your child still needs one; email [email protected] with questions)

Tuesday, May 19 (normal 3:00 dismissal for 6th & 7th grade; 11:30 dismissal for 8th grade):
*8th graders wrap up finals, clean out lockers, turn in iPads, blocks, and cords; 8th graders walk to AHS for a 10:30-11:30 Recognition Ceremony rehearsal and will be dismissed from AHS at 11:30 (rides can pick up along the West side of AHS, and buses will NOT run for 8th graders at this time, so they need to either be picked up or walk home).
*8th graders need to be lined up in the hallway behind the main gym at AHS by 5:50 so we can start the ceremony at 6:00pm. Families and friends are encouraged to attend.

Wednesday, May 20 (normal 3:00 dismissal for 6th & 7th grade; NO SCHOOl for 8th grade)
*6th & 7th graders will do locker clean out and ipad, cord, and block check in this day; they also need to make sure all library books are checked back in
*Night of the Stars happens this evening - you received a letter in the mail if your student qualified, but in case you have misplaced it - students should arrive at Kennedy Elementary around 5:15 to group up for the ride over to the AMS "red carpet" entrance. The cars will start delivering at 5:30, and parents are encouraged to line both sides of the aisle to take pictures. Dinner, skits, and dancing will follow, and students need to be picked up at 8:30 in front of the school. If students want to leave early, that is fine, but once they leave, they cannot come back in - please go over that with your child.

Thursday, May 21 (11:00 dismissal for 6th & 7th grades)
*After a 2-year hiatus, we are bringing back the AMS Talent Show this year. The show starts in the commons at 8:00 and should wrap up around 8:45 or 9:00. If you would like to attend to watch your student perform, please feel free to join us.
*After the talent show, students travel from activity station to activity station with their STAR teachers to compete against other STAR classes - kind of a "big kid" version of field day. School ends at 11:00 this day, and buses will run as normal at that time.

If you have any questions, please call us in the AMS Office at 785-263-1471. Thank you for letting us work with your kiddos this year - it's been a blast!
