Thank you for an incredible start to Thursday Night Jams at the market pavilion. This music series is for each and every one of you, and we’re so happy to see all of the smiling faces still singing and dancing along after so many years.

We’ll see you next month! Same day. Same time. Same place. Thursday, June 25th at 7:00 PM. Electro-indie rock band Pink Beds from Asheville, NC will join us for some spacious grooves! 🌀

The hunt begins 🐺✨

A brand-new pack of wolves has arrived in town thanks to an interactive public art project by William King Museum of Art in collaboration with the Town of Abingdon, Virginia.

The Abingdon Wolf Project invites you to experience in a whole new way through a juried trail of artist-designed and painted fiberglass wolf sculptures, placed throughout downtown Abingdon and beyond.

PLUS, adventure at your own pace with a special digital scavenger hunt experience! Each stop unlocks digital content, artist insights and design inspiration, and allows you to earn points towards prizes from WKMA. Sign up at the link in the comments!

William King Museum of Art has generously offered a limited-edition poster and one-year membership to WKMA as the prize for completion of the mobile experience.

🗺️ For all the physical media lovers! Printed maps are also coming soon, and will be available to pick up at the Abingdon Visitor Center, William King Museum of Art, and the Creeper Trail Welcome Center during regular business hours.

🛍️ And for all of those who have already expressed interest in purchasing wolves: Following the public exhibition, the wolves will be auctioned at the Mistletoe Market Gala on November 7th, with proceeds benefiting the William King Museum of Art and supporting the artists who brought each sculpture to life. Cue the bagpipes! The 44th Annual Plumb Alley Day is next Saturday, May 23rd!

The festival, rated one of the largest one-day events in this Southeast, stretches down Plumb Alley from Cummings Street to Court Street in the heart of our historic district.

You’ll find nearly 150 vendors selling pottery, art, photographs, crafts, jewelry, antiques, and much more! The Day will also feature local food trucks, music, a dance performance, children’s activities, and a massive yard sale sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Abingdon.

Plumb Alley Day is the largest fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of Abingdon, and every nickel raised is donated to local children’s groups and programs.

Our beloved outdoor summer music series returns as Thursday Night Jams this May through September, every fourth Thursday at the Abingdon Market Pavilion. We’ve missed this, and we know you have too. It feels just like coming home.
