From our friends at the Department of Emergency Services - re weather this weekend (Saturday). Please be advised and be safe when traveling this Saturday.

Good Morning Everyone, I just had a phone call with the NWS about tomorrow and wanted to brief everyone on the range of possibilities. First of all....the temperatures are going to be close to freezing, so the risk of icy conditions exist most of the day. We may see a little snow in the morning (more near the Mason/Dixon Line) before transitioning to sleet/freezing rain. The transition zone from freezing rain and rain remains uncertain, because many areas may stay below freezing; however, the transition to all rain is greater near I-95. Therefore, the take away from all of this from the NWS " Where wintry precipitation falls, it will have an impact on travel, especially due to the cold temperatures leading up to the event."

From our friends at Commuter Connections - a smarter way to work. The Guaranteed Ride Home Program (GRH) has been a free service offered to commuters for over twenty years, and serves the Washington DC and Baltimore metropolitan regions - *including Harford County. Since its inception in 1997, the GRH program has provided more than 55,000 emergency rides home. During FY 18, there were 7,866 registered GRH members in the region and more than 1 in 5 (21%) members requested between one and four rides home and waited an average of 13 minutes for their ride. A breakdown of reasons for the trip - 39% cited personal illness, 20% stated a sick child, 15% overtime, and 26% stated other emergency. Harford County Government. Commuter Connections is your connection to finding a potential car or vanpool. Hi. Please talk to drivers about not leaving stops too early (to depart at the scheduled time or later). Also, where is the #2 bus (blue line) supposed to stop when they arrive at the Edgewood ALDI store? There is no Harford Transit bus stop sign there, and I thought pickups/dropoffs would be right by the front door, but lately I’m seeing drivers pull in there and not even go close to the front entrance. So if I have bags of groceries, am I really supposed to A) stand smack dab in the middle of the ALDI parking lot (where these drivers are turning in at, and looking for passengers)...or am I B ) supposed to stand by the front door where the shopping carts are? Option A is not smart at all, and also dangerous. Option B makes more sense, and is safer.
Hi. Is it true that Harford Transit is bringing back Saturday bus service in the new year? I figured it was just a rumor, since the driver I asked said he hadn’t heard anything about it. Regardless, I am happy that we have these extended bus hours currently. 😊 Very helpful for those of us who get off work in the evenings.
A couple nights ago I was walking around trying to find the #3 (Silver) bus stop across the street from the 7-11 at Long Bar Harbor Road to catch the 6:57 pm bus to Edgewood. It was cold and dark, and I couldn’t find it at first. I called Harford Transit to ask and to make sure the driver looks for me. The woman on the phone kept saying the stop is over there and “I’m not going to argue with you.” 👀 Rude. I told her “Um...excuse me... I WASN’T arguing with you. Just looking for the bus stop, so I don’t miss my bus.” Yes, I found the bus stop after I got off the phone with her. But if you’re going to have a job in customer service, adjust the attitude. This isn’t my first time dealing with a rude person answering the phone there either. The following evening my boss drove me to the bus stop, and even SHE didn’t see the bus stop sign at first. She ended up just taking me all the way to my destination, because she didn’t like the bus stop being right there where there’s no sidewalk or anything...and she wasn’t comfortable leaving me standing in that spot in the dark.
