The all volunteer department of 48 active members is one of nine departments within Washington County covering 60 square miles of forested rolling steep rural countryside providing fire service operations for 16,000 people in our district. The Department faces the challenges of structure fire control in a small commercial district, several assisted living facilities, school buildings, small apartm

ent complexes, several small manufacturing facilities, along with several hundred rural residences and wild land interfaces.

🚨 REMINDER: 4 PM Burn Law Begins This Sunday (February 15)
Starting Sunday, February 15, the 4 PM Burn Law goes into effect.
No outdoor burning is allowed before 4 PM to reduce the risk of wildfires during peak conditions.

Residents are encouraged to:

2025 has been a remarkable and busy year.

The following members were awarded Life Saving Medals. They would tell you it's just what they do however, saving a life from a fire, is a tremendous accomplishment.

Awarded the Life Saving Medal - Deputy Chief Marty Berry, Lieutenant Bobby Fields, Jr., Lieutenant Tim Estes, Jr. and Chaplain Steve Vaughan.

Unit Citations were awarded to members that also responded and assisted on the calls that lead to the save.

Awarded the Unit Citation - Deputy Chief Ray Osborne, Deputy Chief Marty Berry, Captain Brandon Gobble, Captain Samantha Johnson, Lieutenant Johnny Perdue, Lieutenant Bobby Fields, Lieutenant Tim Estes, Jr., Engineer Jeff McVey, Engineer Mark Gobble, Engineer Jeremy Phillippi, Engineer Jonathan Smith, Firefighter Joey Stanley, Firefighter Cody Pilkenton, Firefighter Logan Stanley, Chaplain Steve Vaughan and Master Firefighter Cameron Craig (posthumously).

Also at the 2025 Banquet, Master Engineer Chip McCall was recognized as the 2025 Firefighter of the Year. Master Engineer McCall served for 22 years and occupational cancer took him from us. Rest in Peace, Chip - you and Cameron...we miss you both!
