UPDATE: 8/10/26 The Washington County Service Authority has rescheduled the Madison Street waterline project. Work will begin next Monday, August 17, 2026:

🚧 Traffic Advisory🚧

Starting Monday, August 10, 2026, Washington County Service Authority crews will begin replacing and upgrading water lines on Madison Street to improve the reliability of the Town's water system.

Work will include:
β€’ Upgrading the existing 4-inch water line to a 6-inch water line between Hickman Street and Court Street SE, improving water flow to the fire hydrant at Court Street SE.
β€’ Replacing an aging water line between Court Street SE and Kings Mountain Drive due to its deteriorating condition.

Access to homes will be maintained throughout construction. However, through traffic is encouraged to use alternate routes. Please use caution when traveling in the area and follow any posted signage or flaggers.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as these important infrastructure improvements are completed.
