Well, we didn't forget our Birthday, we were just too busy to post for it, so Happy 126 years and 2 days to the Glenside Fire Company! May 17th (in this case, 19th) is truly a day for the entire community to celebrate. We would not be here without your continued support, so we want to give a big Thank You to all of our businesses who donated raffle items to our Bingo and Trivia nights, the runners and supporters of our Stop, Drop, and Run 5k, and, of course, all who contributed to our Fund Drive. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our Crew and Board members and to All of you for making it possible!

Come out and see us at Art Fest 2026, this Saturday, May 2nd, at Easton and Bickley Rd from 11am to 5pm. We will be selling hot dogs, pretzels, and the coldest water in Glenside!

Bingo Night Coming Soon!

On Saturday, May 2nd from 6:00PM-10:00PM, the Glenside Fire Company will be hosting Bingo Night! All proceeds benefit GFC.

The event will take place at the firehouse, located at 210 W. Glenside Ave, Glenside, PA 19038. Parking will be available across the street.

This is an adult BYO (food and drink) event (must be 21+). Games will start at 6:30PM. Daubers are included in ticket price.

All games are regular bingo - horizontal, vertical, diagonal (12 games total). There will be all different types of prizes for the winners. VIP bands may be used once, by the person who purchased it.

Extra games will be sold at the door for $10. There will also be 50/50 tickets sold and raffle baskets.

Yesterday, GFC was dispatched to 5 separate incidents — including 2 vehicle fires. The first one, along Rt. 309 just before noon, and the second at 12:30 PM in the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Wyncote. GFC firefighters quickly extinguished both vehicles after arriving on scene.

For training last night, members of GFC participated in the second night of our Hazardous Materials Operations refresher. We were given the task of setting up a decontamination station, which would be employed to wash any possible hazardous contamination off members of the public or first responders while exiting a hazardous area.

Last night for training, crews practiced working with ground ladders. We broke into groups and trained on different skills including, single man raises, roof ladders, and VES. Personnel also had the opportunity to climb the main aerial ladder.

Members of GFC will be staffing the firehouse for the duration of the storm in the event of an emergency. We would like to ask our community to clear their local fire hydrant to assist us throughout the storm. Please follow the directives pictured below to help keep our community safe!

The Glenside Fire Company regrets to announce the passing of current Board of Directors member Sandra Brodsky. Sandy joined the board in 2019 after moving back into the area and was willing to assist the company in any way that she could, most recently chairing our 125th Anniversary celebration. She will be deeply missed.
