Swift Water awareness/operation/technician. Child Passanger Safety Technician. We have 3 stations, in which are manned 24 hours a day. We have 3 shifts that work 24 hours on and 48 hours off. Each shift is compromised of 1 Captain, 3 Firefighter/Operators and 1 Part-Time Firefighter/Operator. Station-81 (22455 Hwy 36) serves as our headquarters. The Fire Chief and Administrative Assistant operate out of this location. Station 81 is also the designated Child Passenger Safety Check Station. The Fire Captains as well as 2 Firefighter/Operators operate out of this location around the clock. Station 81 houses Engine 81 and Engine 84 ,Rescue 81 and Unit 81. Engine 81 is the First due Engine to all fires in Abita Springs. Engine 84 is our water tender. Engine-84 is also the Mutual Aid truck to all surrounding districts. Rescue 81 is used for all calls in the response area from Medicals to MVAs to Public Assists. Units 81 is the Captains vehicle. It is also used by personnel to attend classes. Station-82 (Hwy 1084/Hwy 1083 intersection) houses Engine 82 and Engine-85. Engine 82 is the first due Engine in the Waldheim part of our district. Engine-85 is our spare Engine. Station 83 houses Engine 83 and Rescue-83. Engine 83 covers the Old Military Rd/Rangeline Rd area. Rescue-83 is our reserve rescue truck.
