🚒👨‍🚒 The Ackerman Fire Department had a great time at the Kindergarten classes Community Helpers Day! Our firefighters enjoyed meeting the students, showing them the fire truck, and talking about fire safety.

We’re always thankful for opportunities like this to connect with our community and help teach our youngest citizens the importance of safety. 🔥❤️

Today members of the Ackerman Fire Department spoke to the employees of Southeastern Timber Products and provided hands-on training on how to properly deploy an ABC fire extinguisher along with the APW extinguisher also known as a (water can). Assistant Chief Ben Chambers did an excellent job instructing! We are thankful for Ben’s abilities speaking on these topics as well as STP allowing us to teach their employees on fire safety and hope to keep a safe working environment for them! At Approximately 3:22 AM on 6-14-2025, the Ackerman Fire Department received a page for a structure fire at a residential house on Hwy 15 just north of the intersection of Hwy 12 and Hwy 15. Upon arrival the home was fully engulfed and Ackerman fire fighters began spraying water immediately and were able to get the fire under control after some time. No injuries were caused from the fire. Following the fire a motorist impacted an unoccupied, parked vehicle at the scene on hwy 15 and was transported via ambulance to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The Ackerman Fire Department was paged out to a structure fire on Eiland Rd at approximately 10:45 pm Sunday night. When units arrived on scene there was a fully involved trailer home, crews performed a defensive attack on the fire to extinguish it and keep it from spreading to nearby property. Fire fighting activities continued into the early hours of Monday morning until the fire was fully extinguished.

At Approximately 10:15 PM on Christmas Eve, the Ackerman Fire Department was dispatched to the area of South Dewey Street for a car on fire. Responders were on scene quickly and the fire was extinguished within minutes of arriving. Thanks to all the guys who took time away from their families and showed up selflessly to help. From everyone at the Ackerman Fire Department, Merry Christmas and be safe!
