We had a great time learning, playing Jeopardy and visiting with GNB staff!

Introducing the 5th Best Middle School Battle of the Books team in the State of Iowa 2023!!
"The AGWSR Benchwarmers!"

Round one: we placed in the top 12 (of 44 teams) to move on to round 2. The students answer quiz style questions based on 24 books.
Round 2: we struggled with the devices so missed answering the first 2 questions....putting us in last place by the 3rd question..... these ladies dug deep and clawed back to end up 5th (questions are timed during this round so speed matters)... the cutoff place for awards!!
Ribbons all around for this very smart team!!!

Thank you to Karen at the Wellsburg Public Library for letting us "set up camp" for the day. Along with the competition, we heard from an author on Zoom, we tailgated with snacks , ate pizza (thank you Cougar Impact/Connection) at People's Saving Bank's Board Room (Thanks), and read the day away!!

And.... our uniforms were pajamas with jerseys. Hah!
