🚨 ACME WATER DISTRICT NOTICE – PLEASE CONSERVE WATER

During the power outage Wednesday night, a power surge tripped a breaker in the wellhouse, which caused several faults in the well control panel. Unfortunately this wasn’t discovered until this morning when a customer at the end of Galbraith Road called Jim after noticing their water looked a little murky.

When we checked the system, we found that both main well pumps had been down since Wednesday night. Because of that, the upper and lower storage tanks dropped to very low levels. A small backup pump was running, but it couldn’t keep up with normal water use.

✅ Good news: The control panel has been repaired and everything is operating normally again.

However, it will take a couple of days to refill the water storage tanks, so we’re asking everyone to please conserve water until Monday (3/16).

A few friendly reminders while the tanks recover:

💧 If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down.
🚿 Keep showers short and sweet.
🚗 Maybe skip washing the truck this weekend.
🏊‍♂️ Now’s probably not the best time to fill the pool.
🌱 Lawns can survive a few days without watering.

Every little bit helps the system recover faster.

WATER OUTAGE - Monday 2/09/26
We have a water line at North Fork Lane off of Turkington Rd that needs repair. A repair crew will be on site at 8:00am to make the repair. Water will be off for houses above the Jones Creek bridge off Turkington Rd until about 2pm while the water line is repaired.

WATER OUTAGE - Saturday 1/31/26
We have just discovered a large water leak at North Fork Lane off of Turkington Rd this morning. A repair crew will be on site at approximately 10:30am to make the repair. Water will be off for houses above the Jones Creek bridge off Turkington Rd for about 5 hours while the water line is repaired.

PUBLIC SERVICE NOTICE

Acme Water District Customers

The Acme Water District recently responded to reports of low water pressure in the Turkington Road area above the Jones Creek bridge. Upon inspection, we identified a significant water leak located on a private service line on the homeowner’s side of the water meter. Because of this, the responsibility for repair lies with the property owner. The homeowner is currently in the process of hiring a qualified contractor to repair the line.

We appreciate the community’s patience during this time. Once the repair is completed, customers in the affected area should experience a return to normal water pressure.

Identifying and Reporting Possible Underground Water Leaks

Detecting underground water leaks early can help conserve water and prevent costly property damage. If you notice a sudden or unexplained decrease in water pressure, it may indicate a leak in the service line between your home and the water meter. These leaks can be difficult to detect, so it is important to act promptly if you suspect a problem.

How to Check for an Underground Leak

1. Shut off water use inside your home. Ensure all faucets and appliances are not running.

2. Check your water meter. If the indicator is moving while no water is being used, a leak is likely present. An easy way to check without having to stand at the meter for long periods of time is to record the meter reading, wait 30–60 minutes without using any water, then check again. A change in the reading indicates a leak.

Other Signs of an Underground Leak

* Unusually wet or soft areas in your yard.
* Patches of grass or vegetation growing more rapidly than surrounding areas.
* Noticeable decrease in water pressure.
* Air, dirt, or discoloration in your water supply.
* The appearance of sinkholes or depressions in your yard.

Why Early Detection Matters

Ignoring a leak can result in:

* Higher monthly water bills.
* Damage to property and landscaping.
* Soil erosion or ground settling.

BOIL WATER ADVISORY UPDATE – ACME WATER DISTRICT

We have received the results of our water sample tests this afternoon, and we are pleased to announce that the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted. All water samples have passed, and boiling water is no longer necessary.

🚨 BOIL WATER ADVISORY – ACME WATER DISTRICT 🚨

The Boil Water Advisory is for all homeowners north of the Jones Creek bridge on Turkington Rd., and does NOT impact any other customers.

At approximately 10:30 PM on October 2nd, a 2-inch water main was accidentally broken by a homeowner. This required water service to be turned off for all customers north of the Jones Creek Bridge on Turkington Rd.

Repair crews have been on site since 7:30 AM on October 3rd.
As a result of this incident, a Boil Water Advisory is now in effect for all customers north of the Jones Creek Bridge until further notice.

We expect water testing results back by Saturday afternoon, October 4th, at the earliest. An updated notice will be posted as soon as results are available.

❗ What is a Boil Water Advisory?

A Boil Water Advisory means your water may be contaminated with bacteria.
Damage to the water system—such as a broken main, loss of pressure, flooding, or equipment failure—can allow bacteria or other contaminants to enter the system.

✅ What You Should Do

* DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST.
* Bring all water to a rolling boil for at least 1 minute, then let it cool before use.
* Use boiled or bottled water for:

* Drinking
* Making ice
* Brushing teeth
* Washing dishes
* Preparing food

Boiling kills harmful bacteria and other organisms that may be present.

💧 Acme Water District will notify customers as soon as water tests confirm it is safe to drink. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
