Acton-Boxborough Regional School Food & Nutrition Services Department The elementary menu is planned with the choices most popular to children in grades K-6.

The K-12 Acton-Boxborough Regional School Lunch Program consists of eight on-site kitchens including six elementary, one junior high school and one high school. We serve hot lunches daily in all of the schools, and we plan three different menus monthly to reflect the students' tastes. The junior high has several selections. The high school has even more choices. There are four serving lines includ

ing a pizza line, grill selections, deli sandwich line, entree line, and a fresh fruit and vegetable bar. The main entree line offers a variety of choices daily such as pasta, taco, salads and hot subs. All High School lunches include 8 oz. milk of their choice, choice of fresh vegetables, and fresh fruit. All bread products are whole wheat: hot dog and hamburger buns and sub rolls. Our sandwiches are made on wheat or white wraps. The high school also has a snack bar with a wide variety of healthy snack choices including bagels, spring water, pretzels, flavored water and breakfast items. The lunch program is an integral part of our school system. We are continually remodeling and updating our cafeterias and kitchens to keep up with the changing items. Our menus are revised monthly according to food trends in the food service business. We strive to meet the needs of all the students, both nutritionally and socially, by serving lunch in a cheerful, pleasant atmosphere.

We had to share some of the creative thank-you cards our students made us for School Lunch Hero Day last Friday 🥰 We are lucky to have a wonderful team here at AB, and we appreciate all of the thoughtful cards students made us to celebrate!

This morning, McCarthy Towne and Merriam students will get to try one of our new recipes - Breakfast Bark! This delicious recipe is made with just four ingredients: yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, and granola, and it is frozen to perfection 🍓

We are so excited to share our new garden space outside the high school! 🦋

This garden was funded through the MA FRESH CORP grant and has been put together through the hard work of volunteer students, our food and nutrition team, and Fresh Start Food Gardens. We are so happy with how the project turned out and cannot wait to work with students to harvest produce for the cafeteria 🌱

Blanchard students enjoyed their last day of cooking club yesterday with homemade empanadas and a chopped cooking challenge! 😋

Our cooking clubs have been so much fun for students and staff alike! Students are learning how to cook fresh, scratch meals and have enjoyed recipes such as butternut squash mac and cheese, pineapple salsa with homemade tortilla chips, and fruit cobbler.

We are so thankful for being funded through the MA FRESH CORP grant to be able to provide these clubs to our students 🍓
