The City of Acworth invites everyone to join us for our 10th Annual Menorah Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday, December 1, the fourth night of Chanukah, at 6:00 p.m. at Logan Farm Park, 4405 Cherokee Street, Acworth 30101. Rabbi Zalman Charytan from the Chabad Jewish Center will officiate the lighting with Mayor Tommy Allegood. After the ceremony, a reception will be held at Tanyard Creek Overlook with refreshments sponsored by The Holbrook .

The eight day Jewish holiday commemorates the Jewish Maccabees’ military victory over Syrian-Greek oppression more than 2,000 years ago. During Chanukah, Jews across the world celebrate the miracle of light that burnt for eight days out of a single-days-worth of oil found in the Temple. One Chanukah candle is lit the first night, November 28, and an additional candle is lit each successive night. The holiday is a celebration of religious freedom and hope.

POSTPONED. After much deliberation, we have decided, in agreement with our presenting partners, JRM Management, Superior Plumbing, and the Marietta Daily Journal, to announce that Pizza, Pints, and Pigskins scheduled to take place on September 11, 2021 will be postponed until September 10th, 2022. Unfortunately, local pizza restaurants are not able to participate due to employee shortages, and we want this event to maintain the high standard of bringing the best pizza our area has to offer. We are sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment, but we look forward to seeing everyone next year at Logan Farm Park.
