Well Done, Michael!! 😍

If you know Michael, this news probably makes perfect sense. 💜

Earlier this year, I had the chance to share Michael’s story, and I quickly understood why so many people love him.

He’s makes everyone feel important.

The kind of teammate who cheers the loudest for others.

The kind of man people literally plan their grocery store trips around just to see.

And now, after years of competing in Special Olympics Georgia sports like softball, basketball, soccer, table tennis, and flag football, Michael is being honored as the 2026 GMS Athlete of the Year!!! 🏆

He’s not only an incredible athlete, he’s someone who gives back constantly, raising so much money for Special Olympics and supporting other athletes every chance he gets.

And through all of it, people are drawn to his kindness, his joy, and the way he treats everyone around him.

This honor feels so incredibly deserved.

Congratulations, Michael 💜💜

We love seeing people out enjoying our parks and beaches, that’s what they’re here for. But let’s be clear: All park and beach rules will be strictly enforced.

Acworth has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for this kind of behavior. If your plans include causing problems, here’s what you can expect:

“Making memories” is great… just don’t make one that includes a mugshot.
