Four foot lizards once kept as pets are now living in the wild in GA. Tegus grow as long as 4 feet and live close to 20 years. The invasive lizard is native to South America, but now it’s threatening Georgia wildlife.

Georgia’s population continues to grow. But now there’s something else that wants to call the Peach State home - an invasive lizard called tegu.
