The City of Acworth Stormwater Department recently completed re‑ditching and cleaning out culvert pipes along Hickory Grove Rd NW. These improvements were made to enhance stormwater flow, reduce drainage issues, and help prevent flooding during heavy rain events.

Thank you to residents and motorists for your patience while this important work was completed. We’re proud to continue working to protect our community and improve local infrastructure!

Happy Earth Day, Acworth! 🌎 The Acworth Stormwater Department had a great time this week hosting an educational water testing event with North Cobb Christian School students. We taught them about state waters, stream buffers, and how we measure water quality using NTUs, dissolved oxygen, and pH levels.

We also discussed an important stormwater concept: storm drains flow directly to creeks, rivers, and streams—not to water treatment plants. Understanding this helps show why protecting our waterways starts right in our neighborhoods.

We love getting the next generation involved and excited about protecting our local water resources! 💧
