It's been a very busy year in the Village of Ada, and the numbers show that our community continues to invest in its homes, businesses, and properties!

In all of 2025, the Village issued 37 zoning permits.

From January 1, 2026, through today, we've already issued 55 zoning permits! That's 18 more permits than all of last year (a 49% increase), and we still have four months left in 2026!

These permits represent a wide variety of projects and improvements including: Garages & Residential Additions; Fences; Decks & Porches; Swimming Pools & Pool Houses; Driveways & Carports; Barns & Storage Sheds; Temporary Storage Containers; Concrete Pads; Demolitions; Handicap Ramps; Concession Stands; Change of Use; Conditional Uses; Signage; Sidewalks; and Gazebos.

Behind every permit is an owner making an investment in their home, business, or property. Collectively, those investments represent growth and improvement.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who continues to invest in their property or business. ❀️

55 permits and counting!! πŸ‘πŸ’πŸ“ˆ

It's World Water Week...a great time to check one of the sneakiest water wasters in your home: a running toilet!

A toilet that continues to run after flushing may seem like a small problem; however, that little trickle can waste hundreds of gallons of water a day if it isn't fixed.

πŸ‘‚Listen for it.
πŸ‘€ Look for water continuing to move in the bowl.
πŸ’¦ Notice if your toilet randomly refills when no one has flushed.

If you hear your toilet running, don't ignore it! A worn flapper, faulty fill valve, or other small repair could be thee culprit.

There's another great way to keep an eye on your water use!

πŸ’» Monitor your water usage 24/7 at villageofadaohio.my360-app.com

By regularly checking your water usage, you can learn your households water habits and spot unusual increases that could indicate a running toilet, or even a leak, before that small problem turns into a big water bill. πŸš½πŸ’°πŸ’Έ

This World Water Week, take a few minutes to check your toilets, monitor your water use, and make every drop count!! πŸŒπŸ’§πŸ’™

Think you know what belongs in your toilet? This bucket of goodies tells a different story! 🀣

These items were recovered from the Village of Ada's wet vac truck after being pulled from clogged sewer lines. And yes...there's a toy collection, dentures, and who knows what else?!πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Your toilet is not a garbage disposal, toy box, or drain for things that "might flush."

On National Toilet Paper Day, remember the 3 P's:

πŸ’§Pee
πŸ’© Poo
🧻 Paper (toilet paper!)

That's it! Only the 3 P's should be flushed.

Items like wipes, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, toys, grease, dental floss, and other household items can cause serious (& expensive) clogs in your home and the sewer system.

So before you flush, ask yourself:

"Is it one of the 3 P's?"

If not, then DON'T FLUSH IT! 🚫

Help us keep Ada's sewer system flowing smoothly! πŸ’™

🧻HAPPY NATIONAL TOILET PAPER DAY!🧻

Watch the video, then tell us:

Which way should the toilet paper roll?

πŸ…°οΈ OVER - It rolls off the TOP of the roll
πŸ…±οΈ UNDER - It rolls off the BOTTOM of the roll

It's 🌐 World Water Week, and Village Administrator Casey Smith is showing us that saving water can be as simple as turning off the tap! 🚰

While brushing your teeth, don't let good water go down the drain. Turn off the faucet while you brush and turn it back on when you're ready to rinse. Every drop saved adds up! πŸ’¦

This World Water Week, let's make every drop count.πŸ’§ Because water is something we use every day...and something we all have a part in protecting. πŸ’™
