Village of Ada 2026 Fall Tree and Stump Removal Project

Dear Village of Ada Tree Care License Holder,
NOTE: MUST HAVE A CURRENT VILLAGE OF ADA TREE CARE LICENSE BEFORE PROJECT AWARD.
The Village is accepting quotes for the removal of fifteen (15) trees, stumps, and wood within the Village.
Tree locations are in Village right of way and private property, street addresses are as follows:

304 S Gilbert (2 trees) 218 W Highland
320 N Main 346 W Montford
715 N Johnson 112 Central (depot)

All fifteen (15) trees are indicated by an orange paint dot and yellow caution tape.
Please quote as a per tree line item, the Village reserves the right to delete trees based on budget.

The following specifications shall apply to the accepted quote:

A. The Contractor shall:
1. Schedule all work with the Village prior to starting.
2. Have a current Village of Ada Tree Care License, per Codified Ordinance 147.18, section 18.
3. Contact Ohio Utilities Protection Service (O.U.P.S.) for utility line location.
4. Follow standard safety rules and regulations.
5. Not damage sidewalk or other utilities within the area.
6. Be responsible for traffic control.
7. Furnish all labor, tools, and equipment necessary to complete the work per the specifications.
8. Stumps are to be ground a minimum of 12 inches below the normal ground level.
9. All tree chipping and stump grinding can be disposed of at the Village compost site.
10. Add soil to grade and rake and/or sweep work area, street, sidewalk, and yard area.
11. COMPLETION DATE FOR TREE REMOVAL December 15th 2026.

B. The Village shall:
1. Reserve the right to accept the best and/or lowest quote.
2. Remove sidewalk sections to allow for stump grinding to be performed if needed.
3. Allow tree chippings (no whole branch sections) and stump grinding to be taken to compost site.
4. Perform the process of seeding after the appropriate amount of time.

The Village Office must receive all quotes no later than 12:00 noon Friday October 30th 2026. Please mark the outside envelopes with “Fall 2026 Tree Removal Quote.” Quotes may be hand delivered to the Village Office at 115 W. Buckeye Ave, or may be mailed to Village of Ada, P.O. Box 292, Ada, Ohio 45810.

🍂 Leaf collection is just around the corner! 🍂

Fall is in the air, and our Public Works crew is gearing up for another season of leaf collection. 💛🧡🤎

📅 Collection Dates: October 26 - November 19

🍁 Northwest - District A ➡️ Oct 26, Nov 2, Nov 9, Nov 16
🍁 Northeast - District B ➡️ Oct 27, Nov 3, Nov 10, Nov 17
🍁 Southeast - District C ➡️ Oct 28, Nov 4, Nov 11, Nov 18
🍁 Southwest - District D ➡️ Oct 29, Nov 5, Nov 12, Nov 19

Please follow these guidelines to ensure your leaves are collected:

✅️ Rake leaves to the curb. Please don't place leaves in the street as this can actually clog storm drains and create traffic hazards.
✅️ Leaves must be placed within two feet of the curb because our vacuum equipment cannot reach piles placed farther away.
✅️ Keep leaves free of debris. Do not include brush, twigs, rocks or other foreign materials. These items can damage the leaf vacuum equipment.
✅️ Keep leaves clear of obstructions. Place piles away from trees, signs, fire hydrants, poles and other obstacles. If the equipment can't reach around them, leaves in these areas will not be collected.
✅️ Move vehicles off the street. Parked vehicles can prevent our cew from collecting during your scheduled week.

🌳 ATTENTION ADA RESIDENTS & TREE CARE COMPANIES! 🌳

Did you know that the Village of Ada, Ohio, requires tree care companies to obtain a Village Tree Care License before performing tree work within the Village limits?

Under Village Ordinance 147.18, this requirement applies to both residential and commercial properties and includes:

✅ Tree trimming and pruning
✅ Tree treatment
✅ Tree removal
✅ Stump grinding

📋 What are the requirements?

• An annual Village Tree Care License
• A $25 annual license fee
• Proof of general liability insurance with minimum coverage of $100,000 for bodily injury and $500,000 for property damage

🏡 Ada residents: Before hiring a company to work on your trees, please verify that it holds a current Village of Ada Tree Care License.

🌲 Tree care professionals: Make sure your license is current before accepting or performing tree work within the Village.

These requirements help protect residents, property owners, and the community while promoting responsible tree care.

POOL MANAGER | $18.50 PER HOUR

The Village of Ada is accepting applications for the seasonal, part-time position of Pool Manager for the Village swimming pool.

The Pool Manager is responsible for the overall supervision and daily operation of the municipal swimming pool, including supervising and scheduling lifeguards and cashiers, coordinating swimming activities and classes, maintaining a safe environment for patrons and employees, testing and monitoring pool water, maintaining required records, handling deposits, ordering supplies and inventory, assisting with equipment maintenance, and addressing personnel matters as necessary.

•Qualifications & Certifications include:
• High school diploma or GED
• Prior managerial or supervisory experience
• Knowledge of swimming pool chemicals and pool operations
• Basic mechanical and maintenance abilities preferred
• Strong organizational, recordkeeping, customer service, and
public relations skills
• Ability to accurately receive and handle money
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and respond on
short notice
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability
under the Village’s vehicle insurance policy
• Required first aid/CPR and related safety certifications
• Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator certification
preferred
• Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard Trainer certifications
preferred
• ServSafe Manager/Responsible Person in Charge Certification
• Must reside within approximately 25 miles of Ada, Ohio

Wage: $18.50 per hour
The successful candidate should be self-motivated, responsible, dependable, organized, safety-conscious, and comfortable working with employees and the public.
