Rural Water District No. 8 , Pontotoc County, Oklahoma was organized pursuant to Title 82 Oklahoma Statutes 1981, Sections 1324.1 through 1324.26 as amended, for the purpose of providing a water works system including distribution lines, pumping stations and storage facilities to serve the members of the District. The Water District was organized as a non-profit organization set up to provide wate

r to members. The first organizational meeting was held in 1976 and the first water was distributed in 1977. Rural Water District No. 8, Pontotoc County is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board consists of seven members, elected by the membership of the District. Directors serve without pay, and are elected for three-year terms, with no more than three directorships expiring each year. Rural Water District No. 8, Pontotoc County serves property in western Pontotoc and east Garvin counties.

Our techs are en route to repair a damaged line. The following are may have low to no water pressure:

Intersection of CR 1570 & CR 3518 going south on CR 3518 for approx. 1 mile. The "Green Frog Addition" has been noted as an affected area.

Our crew is actively working on a line repair. The repairs will cause NO water to LOW water pressure. This affects the following area:
Starting at the Intersection of CR 3530 & CR 1560 and spreads out for a two mile radius in every direction.

If you experience low water pressure and have not received one of our texts/email/social posts then you might want to do some checking!
We like to keep our members in the know about all repairs and possible effects to their water lines, however we do NOT want our members to ignore the signs of a possible leak on their side of the meter.

Our crew will be out making repairs today. Due to repairs the following areas will be affected:
1) Lower water pressure than normal across the district
2) Low to no water pressure from the intersection of HWY 19 & CR 3482 for approx. 2 miles going south.

Remember, if you have low to no water pressure for an extended time to check for any leaks at your place! We send these messages out to help keep the community informed, not to help ignore a possible water leak at your property.
