Mama T’s is excited to announce a 50/50 raffle! Tickets are available for $100 each, with a total of 250 tickets to be sold. Once all tickets are sold, we will give away half of the total amount collected—while the remaining half will support our ongoing efforts to assist those in need.

When all 250 tickets are sold, we will draw three winners: 2 first place prizes will be $5,000 each, and 1 second-place prize will be $2,500.

TO MAMA T’s FRIENDS & SUPPORTERS:

We are searching for an individual who believes in this organization, its goals and aspirations AND who is willing to join our Active Voting Board to serve as Treasurer/Bookkeeper. This is not a paid position; however you will be compensated by the satisfaction that comes from helping the less fortunate and your community in general.

Our present Treasurer, Patty Laramore, has had obligations come up due to an aging/ailing mother and is no longer able to continue in this position. She is,however, more than willing to be of help to a person moving in to take over. Also of assistance to you will be our board member and volunteer CPA, Brandi Walters.

Duties will include:

1. Financial Oversight: Managing the organization’s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
2. Budget Preparation: Developing and overseeing the annual budget in collaboration with other board members and staff.
3. Financial Reporting: Preparing regular financial statements, such as income statements and balance sheets, for board meetings.
4. Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of all financial transactions, grants, donations, and expenditures.
5. Fund Management: Overseeing bank accounts, investments, and cash flow to ensure financial stability.
6. Internal Controls: Establishing and monitoring procedures to prevent fraud and mismanagement.
7. Financial Planning: Assisting in long-term financial planning and fundraising strategies.

Over the past few weeks, both microwaves at Mama T’s have stopped functioning. As you can imagine, they see a lot of use, and we've had them for quite some time.

I contacted someone who’s always ready to help, and that person generously ordered us two new microwaves from Walmart. This is a wonderful example of how supportive and caring our community is. The donor didn’t seek any recognition or praise, just wanted to lend a hand.

To the anonymous donor, we sincerely thank you. Your kindness means the world to us.

The people of Ada are truly extraordinary.

I want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible citizens of Ada. Your generous donations of clothing, food, and essential items have touched our hearts and will make a real difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness. As we face the approaching storm, your compassion and kindness remind us of the strength and unity within our community. PLEASE KNOW THAT MAMA T’S HAS SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER.

During times of below freezing temperatures, we will permit newcomers and residents to return who have previously been banned for various infractions of shelter rules. They will be allowed to sleep inside and eat a meal but must leave in the morning if instructed by a supervisor to exit the facility. 

We will still, however, be performing criminal background checks and will continue to deny entry to any individual who has a history of violent or sexual offenses. The reason for this is that Mama T’s houses men, women and children whose safety we must protect.

Anyone who cannot be admitted will be referred for consideration to any warming centers that might exist. We have warming kits that include sleeping bags for those who may need them.
