Terry Thompson has been a community member of Adams County for over 50 years having farmed potatoes, hay, wheat, corn, beans, and cattle. He knows and understands the challanges that Adams County is facing.

A huge part of being the Commissioner is knowing how to budget county funds. He served on the Othello Community Hospital Board for 6 years, the Finance Committee of the Othello Hospital Board for 4 years, was a Commissioner for the Port of Othello for 10 years, and served on the Adams County Developement Council for 10 years, along with over 14 other boards in the last 37 years. In 2002, he was named the Othello Citizen of the Year by the Othello Chamber of Commerce.

His extensive service to our county and her people makes Terry Thompson the best candidate for Adams County Commissioner #3!

Terry grew up farming and has farmed potatoes, hay, wheat, corn, beans, and has raised cattle. He’s been involved in several other businesses throughout his life. In 1995, Terry was named Simplot Foods Potato Grower of the Year.

Terry was appointed and currently serves as Adams County Commissioner – District 3

It is Terry Thompson’s years and years of experience that qualify him to be Adams County Commissioner for District 3.

Terry has been involved in farming and the rural lifestyle his entire life. His first 16 years were spent growing corn and working a dairy farm in Kansas.

After moving to the Othello area, Terry helped his father homestead 440 acres of prime land in block 20, 10 miles south of Othello -- he then farmed on his own for the following 40 years. They farmed hay, potatoes, corn, wheat, and beans. They also raised their own livestock along with having a cow/calf operation, feeding cattle at Prior Feed Lot. Terry has owned an apple orchard and assisted his sons and daughters in raising and showing swine.

Terry grew 500 acres of potatoes for Simplot and was named GROWER OF THE YEAR for 1995. He loves and understands the agricultural life and enjoys being involved with people.

Terry has also been an auctioneer for over 33 years and has helped and volunteered with many benefit auctions and fair livestock auctions in Adams County.
