Another extraordinary map of the region, titled "A Compleat [sic] Description of the Province of Carolina in 3 Parts." "A Chart of the Coast from Virginia to Cape Florida."

Dating from 1711, this map again includes New London (Willtown) prominently situated on the Edistow [sic] River depicted with twelve city blocks in contrast to Charleston's eight.

One of the authors of this map and an authority on the region, Thomas Nairne was tortured to death by Yamassee tribesmen at Pocotaligo a mere four years later. This event was the catalyst that started the Yamassee War in 1715.
